Job summary

Integrated Solutions for Systems (IS4S) is seeking a Software Systems Engineer to join a multi-disciplinary team in Auburn, AL or Aberdeen, MD. You will help design software architectures, develop use cases and user stories, define requirements, and author integration artifacts to support Army and Joint warfighting functions.

The role requires hands-on software engineering, test planning, system documentation, and collaboration with customers and partners. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, computer science, or related technical field (for full-time applicants)
• In pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, computer science, or related technical field (for part-time applicants)
• Ability to architect software solutions, defining functions and interfaces between internal and external components
• Experience developing and capturing use cases and user stories to drive design in a modified Agile workflow
• Experience informing and documenting software development processes
• Experience developing software documentation and system engineering artifacts (architecture descriptions, ICDs, APIs)
• Experience developing test plans, conducting functional tests, and validating results against requirements
• Ability to manage changes to software and related artifacts
• Familiarity with programming languages and software design
• Knowledge of cloud-based environments
• Knowledge of computer network protocols and IP-based communications
• Experience with systems integration

Responsibilities

• Assist managing the full software development lifecycle from requirements to deployment
• Solve complex integration problems and develop new code as needed
• Develop and maintain integration documentation (design specs, field mappings, test plans, user guides)
• Conduct integration testing and validation for data accuracy and integrity
• Verify solutions meet data security and access requirements
• Communicate with customers, stakeholders, and partner companies to coordinate efforts
