Job summary

Indy Equipment & Supply (IES) in Independence, OH is hiring a Yard/Store Employee to support daily yard and warehouse operations. You will assist customers, organize the yard, and prepare orders while helping ensure a safe and efficient work environment.

A successful candidate will be able to operate or learn equipment such as a loader, forklift, and power washer, while maintaining a professional and cooperative attitude. This role offers growth within a family-owned company.

Qualifications

• Must be able or willing to learn to operate equipment such as motor vehicles, front-end loader, tow motor, bobcat, power washer.
• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions; follow safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Load customers' vehicles with supplies or gravel.
• Organize the yard and warehouse per Store Manager’s directions.
• Keep the shop clean, neat, and orderly at all times.
• Maintain appearance of the main yard by keeping equipment stored in an orderly manner.
• Locate and inventory equipment, materials, and supplies in yard and shop locations.
• Assist with loading/unloading deliveries or shipments.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.

Yard/Store Employee

A typical day looks like:

• Loading customers vehicles with supplies or gravel

• Organizing the yard and warehouse according to Store Managers' direction

• Keeping the shop clean, neat and orderly at all times

• Maintaining appearance of main yard by keeping all equipment stored in yard in an orderly manner

• Locating and inventorying equipment, materials and supplies stored in yard and shop locations as directed

• Loading and unloading any deliveries or shipments in or out of yard

• Emptying all trash receptacles from shop, lunchroom and yard into dumpsters on a daily basis

• Other duties as assigned

Do you have what it takes?

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

• Knowledge of proper use of equipment preferred

• Must be able or be able to learn to operate equipment such as motor vehicles, front-end loader, tow motor, bobcat, power washer

• Must operate equipment and perform job duties with safety rules in mind and abide by them

• Must be able to recollect where equipment/tools are so timely retrieval is possible

• Must be able to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities

• Must be able to effectively communicate verbally with co-workers and supervisor

• Position functions indoors and outdoors in all-weather elements

• Occasional overtime may be necessary during peak times including Saturdays
