Job summary

Huhtamaki in Ohio is seeking a Night Shift Warehouse/Shipping Warehouser to handle packaging supplies feeding the warehouse and load trailers for shipments. You will operate yard truck, use RF scanner, and maintain inventory with Transition Works; lift up to 35 lbs, and work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs regularly and up to 50+ lbs occasionally.
• Proven ability to operate a forklift with certification every three years.
• Experience with RF scanners and inventory systems is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Load finished goods on trailers for shipment to customers.
• Unload packaging supplies from trailers from vendors.
• Log product movements using Transition Works and RF scanner.
• Maintain clean warehouse, yard, and loading areas.
• Operate yard truck and box truck to move product and materials.
• Rotate through all Shipping/Warehouser duties as needed.
• PICK and stage orders for shipment to customers.
• Assist with inventory accuracy and space utilization.

Operates company yard truck to move and spot trailers within shipping yard and move product.This is a night shift position.Essential FunctionsPerforms all tasks in a safe manner. Comply with all plant/company safety and food safety programs.Must be able to perform all Production Warehouser responsibilities.Occasionally will be required to perform the major responsibilities of a Production WarehouserLoads finished goods on trailers for shipment to customers. Completes load sheet by scanning for all trailers loaded.Unloads packaging supplies from trailers when received from vendors.Uses Transition Works to log all products moved from point to point using RF scanner and tablet to maintain accurate inventory and efficient usage of space.Clean warehouse, trailers, held release area and yard area and annexFamiliar with various truck loading patterns for finished goods.Must be able to make out correct LTL shipping tags.Working knowledge of MSO’s, billing out orders through Transition WorksOperates company yard truck to spot trailers in shipping yard and uses the box truck to move product and materials to and from the Tech Center.Rotates into all normal Shipping Warehouser job assignments as needed throughout Warehouse departmentPicks and stages orders from the warehouse in preparation for shipment to customerPerforms other duties as assigned.Job QualificationsBasic educational level background normally acquired through the completion of high school level programs leading to a diploma or equivalent preferred.Must be able to lift 35lbs. on a regular basis and agility to perform all duties of the job.Must be able to operate a forklift and hand pallet truck and obtain certification every three years.Must have legible handwriting and be able to follow verbal and written instructions.Must be able to follow verbal and written instructionsMust be able to learn and retain part numbers and distinctions among various products.Requires the ability to communicate effectively with others.Work overtime as required to meet customer needs.Must be able to do mathematical calculations.Valid driver’s licenses in order to operate yard truck on lot.EnvironmentIncumbent works in a manufacturing environment. Individual will work a set schedule including regular weekend work. Requires standing (60%), walking (35%) and occasional sitting (5%). Individual will use power-lift trucks and hand pallet jacks to handle all packaging supplies coming in and all finished goods from each production area and load trailers according to shipment requirements. Requires twisting at waist, bending/stooping, squatting/kneeling, climbing ladders and stairs. Incumbent will lift up to 35 pounds on a regular basis and lift/carry more than 50 pounds occasionally.
