Job summary

Huhtamaki is seeking a Material Handler to move, store, and inventory raw materials and finished goods in our production or warehouse areas. You will work under supervision to follow safety rules, operate material handling equipment, and participate in continuous improvement activities.

The role requires standing and lifting, includes regular weekend work, and focuses on maintaining clean, safe facilities that meet AIB and SQF standards while ensuring accurate documentation of all material

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, understand and follow written or oral instructions.
• Effective communication with others.
• Able to lift up to 30 lbs regularly and more than 40 lbs occasionally.
• Physical stamina to stand 40%, sit 40%, and occasional walking.

Responsibilities

• Move material through facility using forklifts, pallet jacks, and clamp trucks.
• Load and unload trucks and complete related paperwork.
• Maintain accurate inventories of all materials.
• Conduct material audits and ensure department cleanliness to AIB standards.
• Operate material handling equipment and participate in SQF housekeeping and food safety programs.

Maintains accurate inventories of all materials. Works directly under the supervision of Huhtamaki management.Essential FunctionsObserve all Huhtamaki safety rules and use safe working methods and procedures at all times to avoid injury, injury to co-workers, or damage to company property.Move material through facility with the use of material handling equipment (i.e., forklift, pallet jack, clamp truck, etc.) as required.Participate in Continuous Improvement events and teams.Use the computer to dispense and receive information such as product codes, part numbers, quantities, locations, comments, etc.Complete paperwork to properly document work performed.Load and unload trucks.Conduct material audits.General housekeeping in production or warehouse departments.Maintain department cleanliness to AIB standards.Operate Material handling equipment.Participate in SQF Housekeeping and Food Safety Programs.
