Job summary

Envision Cold in Minnesota is seeking a warehouse associate to perform a variety of duties on the refrigerated dock, operate equipment, and support cold storage and food distribution operations.

You will work safely in a cold environment, handle pallets and shipments, and coordinate with customer coordinators while adhering to PPE and safety policies.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Prior warehouse, forklift, or material handling experience preferred.
• Able to work in a cold storage/freezer environment and operate powered industrial equipment.
• Willingness to complete mandatory annual 8-hour HAZWOPER safety training.
• High school diploma or equivalent or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight safely, efficiently, accurately, and timely.
• Move product to storage areas using appropriate equipment and stage for storage.
• Store palletized product in refrigerated dock or freezer and log locations.
• Pick orders for shipment and assemble products for shipping.
• Ensure inbound/outbound shipments are accurate and free from damage or temperature abuse.
• Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized warehouse.
• Assist in maintaining warehouse security and follow safety policies.
• Recharge and maintain equipment batteries as needed.
• Communicate effectively with managers and coworkers.

In this position, you will perform a variety of warehouse duties operating various equipment, supporting our cold storage and food distribution operations.

This position is represented by UFCW Local 663 and is subject to the terms and conditions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), including applicable union membership and/or service fee requirements following 30 days of employment.

What You’ll Do (including, But Not Limited To)

• Load and unload freight in a safe, efficient, accurate, and timely manner


• Move customer product to storage areas using proper material handling equipment and efficiently stage product for storage in the appropriate area


• Place palletized product in storage racks on the refrigerated dock or in the freezer, and record and communicate the location with customer coordinators


• Pick orders for shipment and assemble customer product to be shipped


• Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of adulteration, damage, and temperature abuse


• Operate all material handling equipment safely and efficiently as required


• Maintain housekeeping for a safe, clean, and neat warehouse


• Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse


• Follow all safety policies and procedures, including required PPE for cold temperatures, overhead obstructions, noise, and battery-handling hazards


• Charge and maintain material handling equipment batteries as needed


• Maintain effective communication and working relationships with all managers and employees


• Notify the Warehouse Operations Manager of any problems with procedures or equipment to help maintain the highest degree of safety, inventory accuracy, and productivity


• Perform other duties as requested

• Regularly required to stand, sit, reach, bend, twist, kneel and use hands to handle various products.


• Consistently lift, move, push, pull and carry upwards of 40 lbs. depending on product and business operations.


• Occasionally lift, move, push, pull and carry upwards of 100 lbs. with assistance depending on product and business operations.


• Work around, on or near a variety of equipment, including pallet jacks, forklifts, warehouse racking systems, electronic devices and refrigeration systems.

• Moving objects, including pallet jacks, forklifts and other warehouse equipment.


• Moderate noise levels depending on warehouse operations.


• Working around refrigeration systems that may include freon or ammonia-based coolants.


• Inclement weather subject to loading and receiving dock configuration.


• Interior temperatures between 70 to -15 degrees Fahrenheit (21 to -26 degrees Celsius)
