Job summary

Penske Logistics is hiring an Order Selector for the 1st shift in Houston, TX. The role focuses on staging and sorting products, operating warehouse equipment, and ensuring safe, accurate shipping operations.

Schedule is Sun-Wed 5:00AM-3:30PM with a wage of $21.45 per hour. Benefits include PTO, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401K, boot allowance, and referral program.

Qualifications

• No prior warehouse experience required but preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Proficient reading skills and ability to follow directions required.
• Ability to work independently, customer service, dealing with others, multi-tasking, organizational skills, flexibility, numbers and time management skills required.
• Flexible to work overtime preferred.
• Ability to work in non-climate-controlled conditions required.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Willingness to work the required schedule at the specific location.
• Complete Penske employment application, background check and drug screening required.

Responsibilities

• Accurately stage and sort products for loading.
• Stacks cardboard boxes and pallets.
• Move materials within the warehouse.
• Comply with all safety requirements.
• Package or kit finished product for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling).
• Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information.
• Read work orders or instructions to determine assignments and material needs.
• Sorts and stores perishable goods in refrigerated rooms.
• Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials and distribute items to production.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place on pallets or to packing/shipping.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment where applicable.
• Transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pickup locations.
• Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
