A Day in the Life & What It Takes to Succeed

• Receive and check incoming freight, merchandise, supplies, or equipment from the main distribution center or vendors. Unload vehicles using handcarts, conveyors, or similar conveyance.
• Inspect, count, mark, and price merchandise. Report shortages, overages, spoilage, or damaged items to your supervisor.
• May be required to have a valid driver’s license and operate trucks up to one ton within government installations and public roads.
• Lift up to 100 lbs with assistance; heavier loads transported by forklift.

The Qualifiers

• One year of warehousing experience, including duties like receiving, storing, issuing, shipping, or operating manual material movement equipment.
• Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
• Experience in preparing documentation, providing guidance to lower-grade workers, and operating a forklift.
