The Salvation Army is seeking a part-time Warehouse Worker in Amarillo, Texas. This role involves assisting with material handling, deliveries, and preparing items for sale. Ideal candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED, along with prior warehouse experience. Strong organizational and teamwork skills are essential.
The Salvation Army , an internationally recognized nonprofit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for a Warehouse Worker, part-time, afternoons and Saturdays, located in Amarillo, Texas.
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Warehouse Manager, follows the warehouse dock area material handling flow chart; assists with routine pick-ups and/or deliveries of material; assists with prepping furnishings & equipment for sale; assists with processing all recyclables for disposal.

State Approved Germicidal Chemicals
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to organize & supervise dock area, and to follow material handling flow chart in an efficient & assigned manner.
Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with co-workers.
Ability to present a positive and professional image of The Salvation Army.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED preferred, AND one year prior warehouse experience preferred, OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Certifications:
Valid State Driver’s License
Forklift Certification (or ability to obtain within established timeframe)
Baler Machine Certification (or ability to obtain within established timeframe)
Physical Requirements:
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write and communicate the English language effectively.
Ability to read and follow written material handling directions.
Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing.
Ability to drive a truck safely and in compliance with laws, policies, and regulations.
Ability to drive a forklift safely and in compliance with laws, policies, and regulations.
Duties require frequent periods of physical mobility including but not limited to standing, walking, climbing, bending, squatting, and lifting.
Extensive amount of physical effort required associated with lifting, moving, and carrying very heavy objects (up to 100 lbs.) frequently.
Working Conditions:
Work requires exposure to the outdoors where there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
