Job Title: Warehouse Worker
Location: Hagerstown, MD Corps
Position Type: part-time (29 hours/week), non-exempt
Pay Rate: $15.00/hour
About this opportunity:
The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for aWarehouse Worker at the Thrift Store in Hagerstown, Maryland. The Warehouse Worker is r esponsible for operating a baler machine to secure, package and bind large volumes of clothing, loading and unloading trucks, lifting of heavy objects on a regular basis. The Warehouse Worker will assist in maintaining the neatness and orderliness of the warehouse area, assist with loading, unloading, and sorting donations; moving donations and other materials into the warehouse; assist in the set-up, clean up and break down of the warehouse.
What we are looking for in you:
Education and Experience
High school diploma or G.E.D.; And two (2) years of experience in sorting, receiving, storing, loading, and unloading of materials in a warehouse or store setting; OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull heavy (over 50lbs.) materials, supplies and equipment frequently. Heavy mobility duties are usually performed by combinations of standing, walking, climbing ladders or steps, bending, reaching, or transporting merchandise on frequent change basis relieved by fewer periods of sitting in a vehicle.
WORKING CONDITION
Work is performed in a stock room, warehouse, or store environment where there are discomforts associated with changes in weather. There are occasional discomforts associated with noise, crowds, dust, lint, chemical odors, and the like.
