Job description

Mailroom Inserter/Warehouse Worker

New Castle, DE

$500 Sign- On Bonus*

$14.00 per hour (Day Shift)

$16.00 per hour (Night Shift)

Gannett Publishing Company located in New Castle at The News Journal has immediate openings for part-time Warehouse Workers available to work weekend schedules on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Operating on a seven-day workweek, we are seeking dependable candidates to work 16 to 20 hours per weekend. You must be able to work a shift starting at 9:00 am or 6:00 pm on Friday and Saturday, and 6:00 pm on Sunday.

If you are high-energy, dependable, a team player, and have experience working in a production or manufacturing environment, we encourage you to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  1. Feed preprints into the insert machine hopper neatly and accurately.
  2. Monitor the insert machine to reduce double inserts and/or skips so that all jackets have the correct inserts.
  3. Remove completed bundles, weighing 10 to 50 pounds, and stack neatly for the next step in packaging delivery.
  4. Perform general clean-up of papers, skids, and debris that accumulate during the workday.

Requirements:

  1. High School Diploma/GED.
  2. Employees must have a high degree of safety awareness.
  3. Above-average problem-solving skills necessary to monitor and repair automatic inserting and collating equipment.
  4. Requires physical dexterity to lift and move material. Must be able to stand for long periods and must be able to lift or pile newspaper products that vary in weight from 10 to 50 pounds or more at one time.
  5. Must be able to change work assignments on short notice and be flexible in scheduling.
  6. The position requires working in production areas while forklifts, pallet jacks, inserting, and related equipment are in use.

*Sign-On Bonus paid in increments.
