Job description

Work Schedule:

2nd Shift: Monday- Friday (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM)

3rd Shift: Sunday - Thursday (11:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Job Responsibilities:

  1. The position is a pay by piece opportunity
  2. Accurately match numbers & letters
  3. The responsibility of the associate is taking units off the conveyor with a propane clamp truck and placing them in their assigned location elsewhere in the building
  4. Accurately stage and sort products for loading
  5. Loads and unloads trailers
  6. Opens and closes dock doors
  7. Maintain a clean and safe work area
  8. Sorts and places parts in racks or other designated areas
  9. Pulling of manual dock chain
  10. Stacks cardboard boxes and pallets
  11. Move materials within the warehouse
  12. Complies with all safety requirements
  13. Package or kit finished product for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling)
  14. Electronically scan products using a warehouse management system
  15. Quality control
  16. Ensure damaged products are identified and removed when received
  17. Complete daily logs
  18. Communicate with associates from other shifts
  19. Attach identifying tags to containers, or mark them with identifying information
  20. Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs
  21. Record numbers of units handled and moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets
  22. Assemble product containers and crates, using hand tools and precut lumber
  23. Pack containers and re-pack damaged containers
  24. Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
  25. Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line
  26. Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department
  27. Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards
  28. Uses computer to enter records
  29. Prepares parcels for mailing
  30. Maintains inventory records
  31. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and a variety of warehouse mechanical equipment (where applicable)
  32. Operate forklifts or pallet jacks to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment (where applicable)
  33. Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

  1. No prior warehouse experience required but preferred.
  2. High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  3. Proficient reading skills and ability to follow directions required
  4. Ability to work independently, customer service, dealing with others, multi-tasking skills, organizational skills, flexible, excellent with numbers and time management skills required
  5. Flexible to work overtime preferred
  6. Ability to work in non-climate-controlled conditions required
  7. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
  8. Willingness to work the required schedule, work at the specific location required
  9. Complete a Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.

This position is designated as safety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required. Associates must have the ability to accept responsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety of others.

-While performing the duties of this job, the associate will be required to move frequently, stand, walk, and sit. The associate is frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms. The associate must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs/23kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs/45kg.
