Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Warehouse Worker to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring accurate inventory control, efficient order fulfillment, and proper storage of incoming stock. The ideal candidate will handle both hardware and dimensional lumber, supporting our sales and production departments by pulling and delivering correct items in a timely and accurate manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and Verify Stock: Check incoming deliveries against purchase orders and packing slips for accuracy. Inspect materials for damage or discrepancies upon receipt. Record and report any variances or quality issues.
- Put Away Inventory: Safely and efficiently store materials in designated locations. Ensure proper organization and labeling of stock, maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in the warehouse.
- Order Fulfillment: Pull orders accurately for both sales and internal production departments. Verify that part numbers, sizes, and types of materials match order requirements, with special attention to items with similar specifications.
- Material Handling: Handle both hardware and dimensional lumber safely and appropriately. Operate forklifts or other warehouse equipment as required (training provided if necessary).
- Inventory Accuracy: Participate in cycle counts and periodic full inventory checks. Assist in maintaining accurate records of stock levels and movements.
- Teamwork & Communication: Work closely with sales, production, and purchasing teams to ensure smooth operations. Report shortages, overages, or stock concerns promptly.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous warehouse, inventory, or material handling experience is a plus.
- Ability to read and understand packing slips, work orders, and product specifications.
- Strong attention to detail to differentiate between similar materials (e.g., sizes or part numbers).
- Basic math and computer skills for inventory entry and verification.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain) is a plus.
- Must be a dependable team player with a proactive work ethic.
Work Environment
- Primarily warehouse-based with exposure to outdoor conditions during unloading/loading.
- May involve working in varying temperatures and around heavy materials.
