Job summary

Cardinal Health is hiring for a Warehouse Operations role in South Carolina. The position handles materials handling and product distribution, including receiving, picking, packing, and shipping as part of an integrated logistics team.

Expect to work 6:00am–2:30pm, Monday–Friday, with overtime possible based on business needs. Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 pounds and operate material handling equipment in a fast-paced warehouse.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • RF scanner and PIT experience highly preferred.
  • Ability to work OT with little notice and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Unloads trucks in the Inbound section using pallet jack or equivalent devices.
  • Stores products in warehouse locations using order picker or other devices.
  • Picks large case items or small units and places on designated cart.
  • Cross-trains in multiple areas of the warehouse and participates in projects.
  • Uses Warehouse Management System (WMS) to check in/out products.
  • Drives material handling equipment as required (forklift, order picker, reach truck).
  • Performs housekeeping and inventory control to maintain a safe environment.
  • Works on routine tasks with supervision and resolves issues as needed.
  • Participates in associate meetings and communicates concerns to management.

The hourly range listed is an estimate. Pay at Cardinal Health is determined by multiple factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographical location, relevant education, experience and skills and an evaluation of internal pay equity.

Work schedule for this role is: 6:00am - 2:30pm (or working until the work is complete), Monday-Friday. Overtime may be required based on business needs.

Job Description

What Warehouse Operations contributes to Cardinal Health Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, and supply planning. Warehouse Operations is responsible for performing/controlling a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of products. This may include functions of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, delivery, etc. Also responsible for the efficient flow of products from the point of product receipt from vendors to the shipment of products (via prescribed service parameters) to a variety of internal and external customers.

Responsibilities
  • Unloads trucks in the Inbound section by using a pallet jack or equivalent devices to put pallets out of the trucks.
  • Stores products in warehouse locations using order picker or other devices.
  • Picking large case items with material handling equipment or pick small unit of measure items and place on designated cart.
  • Cross-training in multiple areas of the warehouse and participate in projects as needed.
  • Utilizing Warehouse Management System (WMS) to check in and/or send out products.
  • Driving material handling equipment as required by job duty. Example equipment in the facility may include order picker (cherry picker), forklift, reach truck, turret truck, pallet jack, and walkie rider.
  • Completing housekeeping and inventory control tasks and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Working on routine assignments that require problem resolution.
  • Participating in associate meetings and communicate any concerns to management.
Qualifications
  • Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, lift and stand for entire shift.
  • Comfort working with heights 20-30 feet regularly.
  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
  • Previous material handling equipment experience (PIT) preferred.
  • Radio frequency (RF) scanner and/or voice to pick experience highly preferred.
  • Must be able to work overtime with little to no advance notice.
  • Ability to follow direction and change priorities while working independently or as a member of a team.
  • Aptitude to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment while meeting hourly established performance standards.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn to operate material handling equipment and rotate into various areas of the warehouse.
  • Adhere to site safety regulations including wearing required personal protective equipment such as steel toed safety shoes, and material handling equipment safety harness; accountable to Cardinal Health’s EHS as well as QRA policies and procedures.
