SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Warehouse Manager and/or Dock Lead, assist in loading contributed goods onto and off trucks and at donation stations. Major duties include securing items to prevent damage, assisting drivers, and processing textile and hard goods products.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
- Assist in loading contributed goods onto trucks using proper lifting procedures.
- Assist in loading and unloading store merchandise orders or return items as directed by the Warehouse Manager and/or Dock Lead.
- Operate forklifts for replenishment, order picking, loading/unloading trucks, and placing items in designated areas.
- Secure items with ropes and padding to prevent damage.
- Load and unload equipment such as barrels and hand trucks needed for trips.
- Carefully pack and stack goods during loading and unloading to prevent damage.
- Assist in processing textile and hard good products.
- Present a proper image of Goodwill Industries to the public.
- Maintain appropriate dress code including wearing a name badge.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
- Assist in baling salvage textiles manually or with automated balers.
- Operate compactors.
- Follow all safety and security procedures.
- Evaluate and stage furniture.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Warehouse and/or Dock Lead.
QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES

Education and Experience
No prior experience required.
Math Ability
Level 1: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide two-digit numbers, using units of American currency, weight, volume, and distance.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Physical and Environmental Requirements
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Visual abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Stand and sit for long periods.
- Work outdoors and indoors, exposure to weather, dust, dirt, chemicals, noise, and fumes.
