Job summary

Penske Logistics is seeking a Forklift Operator to join a brand-new operation in Laredo, Texas. This role is ideal for safety-minded individuals who thrive in a warehouse setting and enjoy a friendly, outgoing team.

Typical shift is Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with weekends/holidays as needed. Base pay is $21.63 per hour, plus comprehensive benefits including PTO, health, dental, vision, life insurance and a 401(k).

Qualifications

• No prior warehouse experience required but preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
• Ability to follow directions and read work orders precisely.

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads trailers.
• Move materials within the warehouse.
• Complies with all safety requirements.
• Electronically scan products using a warehouse management system.
• Communicate with associates from other shifts.
• Read work orders or receive instructions to determine assignments.
• Record numbers of units moved using daily production sheets or work tickets.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and related equipment.

Job Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads trailers
• Move materials within the warehouse
• Complies with all safety requirements
• Electronically scan products using a warehouse management system
• Communicate with associates from other shifts
• Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs
• Record numbers of units handled and moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets
• Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
• Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and a variety of warehouse mechanical equipment (where applicable)
• Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

• No prior warehouse experience required but preferred.
• Proficient reading skills and ability to follow directions required (Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred)
• Ability to work independently, customer service, dealing with others, multi-tasking skills, organizational skills, flexible, excellent with numbers and time management skills required
• Flexible to work overtime preferred
• Ability to work in non-climate-controlled conditions required
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job

• Willingness to work the required schedule, work at the specific location required
• Complete a Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.
