Warehouse Worker Delivery Driver - Rancho Bernardo Warehouse

HOW YOU WILL IMPACT OUR MISSION

The Warehouse Worker/Delivery Driver performs all job assignments with a positive attitude that supports San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance's mission and vision of saving species worldwide by uniting our expertise in wildlife care and conservation science with our dedication to inspiring passion for nature and leading the fight against extinction. The Warehouse Worker/Delivery Driver under general supervision processes requisitions and orders, participates in the movement and delivery of products, and reports to Retail Management.

This position is located in one of the organization's warehouses. Primary duties involve loading vehicles, making deliveries, and performing a variety of general warehousing and facility functions including the operation of heavy/industrial equipment.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Accurately and efficiently manage orders for Retail replenishment, researching and reconciling discrepancies.
• Safely operate equipment and vehicles, completing daily inspections.
• Organize, load, unload items for delivery and pickup, and assist in setting up and stocking Retail locations.
• Deliver products, supplies, and equipment to multiple on or off-site properties and collect outbound items.
• Sort and store stock in the warehouse using warehouse equipment, maintaining safe and clean facilities and vehicles.
• Receive delivered products and supplies, check and inspect items.
• Under general direction, provide training, guidance, and constructive communication to team members.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• A highly motivated team player capable of working independently, completing tasks accurately and efficiently while adhering to all safety protocols.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Successful completion of a physical ability test required.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

JOB EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATIONS

• Valid California Driver's License required upon hire.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Safe driving practices and knowledge of California motor vehicle law.
• Proper methods of shipping and receiving, material storage.
• Operate motorized equipment and vehicles, including learning the safe operation of a forklift.
• Ability to make simple arithmetic calculations and keep records.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, including tact and courtesy.
• Respond appropriately to cautions from co-workers.
• Ability to lift and move heavy and awkward supplies and equipment.
• Work effectively with others and follow directions in a diverse environment.
