Responsibilities
- Load product safely into trucks according to routing manifest to avoid breakage or damage.
- Receive and disperse product merchandise or point of sale materials following storage and handling procedures.
- Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or bins based on size, type, or product code.
- Handle products safely during loading and unloading.
- Prepare split case orders based on customer invoices and place products into shipping containers.
- Rotate and arrange products according to procedures.
- Conduct scheduled inventory of stored products.
- Inspect incoming and stored products for deterioration or damage and report issues.
- Perform quality control checks to ensure loaded products match orders.
- Securely close and seal trucks after loading.
- Follow all safety rules, maintain a clean work area, and report accidents immediately.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED, or 6-12 months related experience.
- Ability to read simple words and numbers, print and speak basic sentences.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide with two-digit numbers and multiples of 10.
- Ability to understand and follow detailed instructions.
- May require valid licenses for driving forklifts, cherry pickers, or trucks, including possibly a CDL.
Physical and Work Environment
- Regularly required to stand, walk, handle objects, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must be able to lift/move up to 60 pounds.
- Work near moving mechanical parts, exposed to fumes, and varying weather conditions.
- Noise level is usually loud.
