Job summary

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED equivalent.
• Previous warehousing experience preferred.
• Mathematical knowledge required.
• Basic PC skills including Excel and use of web-based applications to print labels (FedEx, UPS).
• Must be able to speak, read and write English.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good planning and organizing skills.
• Ability to work overtime during busy periods.

Responsibilities

• Loads trailers, pulls orders, receives shipments, checks deliveries and performs other tasks assigned by warehouse Group Leader.
• Pulls orders in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Loads trailers, ensuring optimum space utilization, maintains accurate loading documents.
• Receives shipments coming into the warehouse and checks for authorization, correctness and damage.
• Maintains a count and visual inspection of product and performs skid count verification.
• Maintains weekly, clean appearance of product.
• Sweeps walkways and drive aisles every other week to maintain a clean warehouse.
• Takes damaged product to QA area as needed.
• Completes paperwork and submits to warehouse office.
• Mops warehouse monthly.
• Empties trash cans and hoppers; handles up to 50 pounds.
• Performs preventive maintenance checklist on forklifts.
• Participates in training of new employees.
• Performs additional assignments or special projects as required.
• Maintains housekeeping standards and a clean work area at all times.
• Adheres to GMP, food safety, HACCP and SQF requirements and reports non-compliance.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Warehouse Lead or Shift Supervisor.

POSITION/TITLE: Warehouse Worker

WORK LOCATION: Mt. Sterling, OH

WORK TYPE: ON SITE

JOB SUMMARY: Loads trailers, pulls orders, receives shipments, checks deliveries and performs other tasks assigned by warehouse Group Leader.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Pulls orders in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Loads trailers, ensuring optimum space utilization, maintains accurate loading documents.
• Receives shipments coming into the warehouse. Checks deliveries to determine authorization, correctness and damage, if any.
• Maintain a count and visual inspection of product to ensure the correct product and number is received. Does a skid count verification.
• Maintains a weekly, clean and proper appearance of product.
• Sweeps walk and drive aisles on a every other week to maintain clean warehouse.
• Takes damaged product to QA area as needed.
• Makes sure all paperwork is completed and turned into the warehouse office.
• Mops warehouse monthly.
• Dumps trash cans & hoppers. Maximum weight 50 pounds on trash cans.
• Performs preventive maintenance checklist on the forklifts.
• Participates in the training of new employees.
• Performs additional assignments and/or special projects that may require physical activity beyond those required functions of the job.
• Maintains housekeeping standards by keeping a clean work area at all times.
• Adheres to all good manufacturing practices (GMP), food safety, HACCP and SQF process requirements; rectify and/or report any and all non-compliance to Management or the SQF practitioner immediately.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Warehouse Lead or Shift Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Work mandatory overtime, early morning, late evenings and weekends when required during busy season, inventory, and for vacation coverage.

• Work space is one that contains moving mechanical parts.
• Requires work in an indoor manufacturing environment that may be exposed to extreme heat that is not air conditioned.
• Work environment contains loud noises and odors that may last for long periods of time or on a continual basis as well as occasional airborne particles.
• Must wear PPE while working, which includes hairnet, hearing protection and safety glasses with side guards at all times.
• Ability to work an 8+ hour shifts as designated.
• Able to work weekdays, weekends and overtime as designated.
