Job description

The primary responsibility of a warehouse worker is to efficiently receive, store, and issue materials, equipment, and other items from stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and count stock items, recording data manually or using a computer.
  • Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards.
  • Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigating discrepancies or adjusting errors.
  • Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.
  • Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
  • Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Keep records on the use and / or damage of stock or stock handling equipment.
  • Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
  • Provide assistance or direction to other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers.
  • Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Team player and detail-oriented.
  • Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in shipping and receiving, and inspection.
  • Attention to detail and ability to read and write English is required.
  • Willingness to work a flexible shift.
  • Ability to stand for at least 8 hours with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to perform tasks including pushing, pulling, grasping, and lifting with or without reasonable accommodation.

Work involves standing for extended periods and may require physical exertion, such as lifting and moving items. The warehouse environment is fast-paced and requires attention to detail. Employees must wear appropriate attire to ensure safety compliance. Shift schedules include : 6am-2pm Sun / Mon / Tue, 6am-2pm Thu / Fri, 2 : 30pm-12 : 30am Sun / Mon / Tue, and 2 : 30pm-12 : 30am Wed / Thu / Fri.

This is a Contract position based out of NA, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.50 - $16.50 / hr.
