Job summary

Wegmans Food Markets is seeking a warehouse selector to join our distribution team in Ashland, VA. This role focuses on accurate product selection, safe pallet building, and maintaining cold chain integrity for applicable loads.

Overnigh shifts are four 10-hour days; you will be trained in safety and equipment operation, with competitive pay and a bonus program up to $500.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail and teamwork skills are essential.
• Experience operating pallet jack, forklift, and Vocollect preferred.
• Must be able to lift 20–25 lbs on average, with occasional heavier loads.

Responsibilities

• Ensure pallets are built safely and efficiently to maximize trailer space.
• Safely operate pallet jack, forklift, and/or Vocollect as required.
• Perform order audits to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Maintain knowledge of quality standards/specifications for all products.
• Inform management of daily quality issues using reports and communications.
• Maintain cold chain integrity for loads with temperature requirements.
• Lift 20–25 pounds on average; heavier loads may be required occasionally.

Work schedule:

Overnight positions consist of four 10-hour shifts per week

What You'll Do

• Ensure pallets of product are built safely and efficiently in a manner that minimizes product damage in transportation and maximizes trailer space
• Safely operate equipment necessary to perform job duties; this may include a forklift, pallet jack, and/or Vocollect
• Perform order audits to determine accuracy and quality
• Maintain knowledge of all quality standards/specifications and requirements for all products
• Inform operations management of daily quality issues using reports as well as other forms of necessary communication
• Maintain the integrity of the cold chain on loads that have temperature requirements
• May work in and have exposure to cold temperatures; lift weight of 20-25 pounds on average with maximum weight lifted greater than 50 pounds occasionally to frequently

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience with operating a pallet jack, forklift, and Vocollect

: Frozen positions earn an extra $2.00/hour
