Job summary

PLA Buyer LLC in Salinas, CA is seeking a Warehouse Utility I to support daily warehouse operations, including sorting, pallet preparation, and equipment operation. The role emphasizes safety, cross-training across areas, and maintaining high-quality pallet standards in a fast-paced environment.

The position offers a 1:00 pm–9:30 pm schedule from Thursday to Monday, with benefits and growth opportunities within a large national company.

Qualifications

• Experience in manual labor or warehouse environments preferred.
• Willingness to cross-train in multiple areas, including forklift operation and facility maintenance.
• Ability to stand, bend, and lift for 8 to 10 hours.
• Attention to detail and reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Sort materials by hand or with machine assistance to maintain order.
• Operate the baler, swap totes, track damage counts, and coordinate bale removal.
• Perform quality painting of pallets and proper use of painting equipment.
• Maintain a clean work environment by sweeping debris around warehouse and dock areas.
• Inspect items while sorting to ensure criteria are met and maintain throughput.
• Sort items by vendor and process at an established rate per hour.
• Ensure compliance with safety, Propak and PLA policies and procedures.
• Complete other duties as assigned to support and improve team operations.
