Job summary

Knight-Swift Warehousing and Fulfillment in Bridgeton, MO is seeking a Warehouse Utility Associate to support receiving, storing, and shipping processes. You will help maintain inventory accuracy, uphold safety and quality standards, and assist others to meet organizational goals.

Requirements include a high school diploma, at least 1 year of warehouse experience, and knowledge of basic warehousing operations. Lifting up to 50 lbs and a non-climate-controlled environment are expected.

• Knowledge of basic manufacturing, warehousing, or shipping operations.

Responsibilities

• Loads raw material or finished product on skid or hand truck.
• Keeps shelves, pallet areas and workstations neat and safe.
• Uses tools to remove strapping and open crates/boxes.
• Assists with product repair.
• Reports defective materials to supervisor.
• Maintains clean and orderly work area and equipment.
• Follows safety regulations and OSHA rules.
• Straps and secures goods to pallets.
• Receives, inspects, and sorts inventory with RF scanner.
• Operates and troubleshoots stretch wrap machine.

Job Overview:

The Warehouse Utility Associate is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to support warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and shipping products. This role ensures the efficient handling of materials, maintains inventory accuracy, and upholds safety and quality standards in the warehouse environment.

Duties/ Responsibilities:

• Loads raw material or finished product on skid or hand truck.
• Preserves a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area and workstations neat.
• Uses tools such as hammers and crowbars to remove strapping and open crates/boxes.
• Assists with product repair.
• Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the work area supervisor.
• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Follows prescribed safety regulations and complies with all Company and OSHA Safety and Health rules.
• Proactively works to assist others in achieving the organization’s objectives.
• Strap and secure goods to pallet.
• Receives, inspects, and sorts new inventory with RF scanner.
• Operates, monitors, and troubleshoots a stretch wrap machine.

Required Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least one year of related warehouse experience
• Knowledge of basic manufacturing, warehousing, or shipping operations

Preferred Education & Experience:

• Ability to be flexible and adapt to change.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good math and written communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a team environment.
• 1 year of recent stand-up forklift experience

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

• Work is primarily performed in a non-climate-controlled environment with moderate noise levels. Exposure to moving machinery, forklifts, and other material-handling equipment. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Will be required to lift up to 50 lbs. throughout the day. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to perform repetitive motions. Work is conducted in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
