Job summary

The Salvation Army seeks a Warehouse Associate in Omaha to process and bale donated materials, assist with pickups, and maintain an organized facility.

Responsibilities include operating forklift/pallet jack, loading/unloading trucks, recording bale counts and weights, and following safety protocols. No specific education is required; ability to lift up to 75 pounds and pass background checks are essential.

Responsibilities

• Transport donated materials to appropriate locations within warehouse.
• Bale clothes or cardboard following standards and quotas of The Salvation Army and ensure products compact evenly.
• Assist the truck driver with scheduled donation pickups, including loading and unloading the truck.
• Keep record of the number and weight of bales, following department guidelines.
• Transport completed bales to designated holding area.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack, and all safety equipment when moving materials.
• Follow all safety protocols and wear PPE; ensure OSHA compliance.
• Maintain order and cleanliness to effectively process donated materials.
• Perform routine housekeeping tasks to keep the environment tidy.
• Driving is an essential function of the role.
• All other duties as assigned.

SUMMARY: Processes and bales designated materials for the warehouse. Assists with donation pickups, to include loading and unloading.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

• Responsible to transport donated materials to appropriate locations within warehouse.
• Bale clothes or cardboard following standards and quotas of The Salvation Army and is responsible to ensure products compact evenly.
• Assist the truck driver with scheduled donation pickups, to include loading and unloading the truck.
• Keeps record of the number and weight of bales, following department guidelines.
• Transport completed bales to designated holding area.
• This position is responsible for proper and safe utilization of forklift, pallet jack, and all other equipment when moving materials.
• Follow all safety protocols, to include but not limited to the use and wear of safety protective equipment & all lock-out/tag-out procedures, to ensure OSHA compliance.
• Responsible to ensure others maintain proper safety protocols and safeguard tools and equipment against unauthorized movement.
• Maintain a sense of order and cleanliness to effectively process donated materials.
• Perform routine housekeeping tasks of cleaning bathrooms, empty trash cans, and other janitorial tasks to ensure environment stays in a tidy and clean manner.
• Driving is an essential function of the role.
• All other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Education and/or Experience: No specific education, warehouse experience preferred.

The noise level may be loud at times.
