Job summary

Rheem Manufacturing Company in Greensboro, NC seeks a Distribution Trainer to deliver new hire, cross-training, refresher, and process-specific training for warehouse associates. You will ensure safety, accuracy, and efficiency while upholding SOPs and quality standards.

The role acts as a subject matter expert across multiple functions, partners with leadership, and supports daily warehouse operations as needed. Ongoing coaching and development are expected to maintain high performance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct new hire orientation and job-specific training for distribution associates.
• Deliver training on warehouse processes, PIVs, handheld scanners, RF devices, WMS, and related equipment.
• Ensure training activities comply with SOPs, quality standards, and safety requirements.
• Maintain training records, assessments, attendance logs, certifications, and competency documentation.
• Monitor trainee progress and provide coaching, mentoring, and feedback.
• Identify training gaps and recommend corrective actions or development opportunities.
• Reinforce company values, productivity expectations, quality standards, and safe practices.
• Partner with supervisors to evaluate readiness, training effectiveness, and development needs.
• Maintain proficiency in warehouse operations, training materials, and process updates.
• Demonstrate advanced knowledge of receiving, stocking, order fulfillment, packing, shipping, and inventory control.

Support operational needs by locating stock, filling orders, preparing shipments, and verifying inventory and order accuracy.

• Inspect outgoing materials for accurate descriptions and quantities.
• Support continuous improvement, process standardization, and operational excellence initiatives.
• Communicate trainee progress, skill deficiencies, and performance concerns to leadership.
• Prepare and maintain training, attendance, and operational reports as required.
• Promote a positive learning environment while supporting safety, quality, and compliance programs.
• Maintain housekeeping standards within training and operational areas.
• Perform moderate to heavy lifting and maintain regular attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse, distribution, logistics, or training experience preferred.

• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and warehouse management systems.
• Ability to work overtime as business needs require.
• Ability to obtain and maintain company Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) certification.
• Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment following required training and certification.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and grasp materials and equipment.
• Visual acuity sufficient to read labels, computer screens, RF devices, and training materials.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Ability to work at heights up to 35 feet when required.
