Job description

Warehouse Technician / Forklift Operator

Torus is headquartered in Utah and is expanding manufacturing at our 540,000-square-foot facility in Salt Lake City called GigaOne. Our missionis to build the world’s first mesh energy infrastructure — built to unite people and communities through resilient, secure, and intelligent power. We design, engineer, manufacture, install, and support our systems end-to-end, standing behind them throughout their lifecycle. Torus systems help reduce costs, lower emissions, and protect facilities from outages, while strengthening the security and reliability of the broader utility grid. Torus is committed to American manufacturing, engineering excellence, and building energy systems that last.

At Torus, you will be part of something larger than a single product or technology. Your work will help build energy infrastructure that supports critical systems, industry, and communities for decades to come. We value accountability, collaboration, and clear thinking. We are looking for people who want to solve hard problems and build things that matter.

Who You Are
  • Seeking a long-term role with career growth in warehouse logistics, supply chain, or operations.
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and naturally organized—you take pride in accuracy.
  • Clear communicator who checks assumptions, seeks clarity, and provides timely updates.
  • Safety-focused, process-driven, and proactive in identifying risks or inefficiencies.
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision while coordinating across teams.
About the Role

As a Warehouse Technician II, you will support warehouse operations including inventory control, materials handling, shipping/receiving, and coordination with production teams. Your role ensures that parts, components, and finished goods are stored, tracked, and delivered to manufacturing and field projects safely, accurately, and efficiently.

Responsibilities
  • Material Handling & Logistics: Receive deliveries, verify shipments against packing lists, inspect for damage, and process inventory receipts. Pick, pack, and stage materials for production builds and outbound shipments. Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and material handling equipment.
  • Inventory Management: Track inventory using ERP or warehouse management systems (training provided). Maintain accurate records of material movements, part counts, and stock levels. Perform regular cycle counts and support inventory audits.
  • Warehouse Organization: Maintain clean, clearly labeled, and well-organized storage areas. Optimize inventory layout for efficiency and safety flow. Assist in designing and building shelving, storage racks, and bin systems as needed.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Inspect and maintain warehouse tools, lifting equipment, and packaging stations. Report any malfunctioning equipment that may impact safety or operations.
  • Safety and Compliance: Follow all OSHA, company, and industry safety standards. Use PPE appropriately and enforce safe material handling practices. Participate in safety training and help improve warehouse safety policies.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Communicate proactively with manufacturing, procurement, and engineering to support material needs. Track and report any inventory discrepancies, supply delays, or damaged parts. Provide feedback to improve workflows and material tracking efficiency.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate shipping documentation, receiving logs, and inventory adjustments. Use digital tools to document issues, corrective actions, and improvement ideas.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
Required Experience
  • High School Diploma/Equivalent and 2+ years of warehouse, material handling, or inventory control experience.
  • Current and Active Drivers License.
  • Familiarity with warehouse tools, pallet jacks, forklifts, and basic computer applications.
  • Experience working from pick lists, packing slips, or shipping/receiving documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and record accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and support fast-moving operations.
Preferred Experience
  • Active OSHA-compliant Forklift Certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Experience with ERP/WMS inventory systems (NetSuite, SAP, Fishbowl, etc.).
  • Knowledge of shipping carriers (UPS, FedEx, LTL) and freight documentation.
