Job summary

Olympic Steel is seeking a candidate for a shop-floor role supporting shipping, receiving, and machine operations at our Oakwood, GA facility. The role includes operating forklifts and cranes, assembling skids, and finishing parts to customer specifications.

The position emphasizes safety, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Prior manufacturing experience and familiarity with power tools are a plus, with full-time hours on the 5:00am–3:30pm shift,

Qualifications

• 1+ year of manufacturing experience.
• Ability to measure materials to customer specs.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Knowledge of power tools and machinery is a plus.
• Skilled at basic measuring tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist in shipping and receiving department.
• Assist machine operators.
• Operate forklift to load and unload material.
• Operate overhead crane to load and unload material.
• Assemble wooden skids and assist in banding of material.
• Package and/or kit parts.
• Finish parts by hand grinding or using deburring machine.
• Measure material or parts based on customer specifications.
• Keep work area clean and maintained throughout shift.
