Job description

We are seeking a reliable and motivated individual to join our team as a Warehouse Technician. The role of the Warehouse Technician is an important position within our company. They are responsible for collecting and delivering all parts and equipment to and from job sites and/or suppliers. This position is a paid pre-apprenticeship role with a direct-entry relationship into an apprenticeship in a trade that best suits their skillset.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive and review work orders, purchase orders, and requisitions for all parts and equipment
  • Safely and efficiently operate company vehicles to transport parts, tools, and equipment to and from job sites, warehouses, and suppliers
  • Package and secure items for safe transportation to prevent damage during transit.
  • Load and unload parts, tools, and equipment from delivery vehicles using appropriate tools or equipment
  • Inspect delivered items at job sites or warehouses to ensure compliance with order specifications
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers and coworkers regarding any issues, delays, or changes in order requirements
  • Coordinate with the purchasing department to ensure adequate inventory levels of commonly used parts and equipment
  • Inventory management, including receiving, organizing, and stocking parts and equipment in the warehouse
  • Adhere to fleet preventative maintenance and cleanliness schedules
  • Helping field technician with large and small projects as assigned work is available.
  • Constantly learning the trades to advance to the apprenticeship program for plumbing, heating, cooling, electrical, and appliance repair
  • Other duties as determined by department manager

Requirements:

  • High school diploma, GED, or HISET
  • Proven experience as a Parts Runner, Delivery Driver, or in a similar capacity preferred
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Must pass a drug screening
  • Must pass background check
  • Ability to learn basic knowledge of parts and equipment in company's specific industry preferred
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting work orders, purchase orders, and technical diagrams
  • Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50lbs) and perform physical tasks such as bending, reaching, and climbing
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in delivery and record keeping
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
