Job summary

Architectural Arts in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Full Time Warehouse Associate to move freight, stock, and other materials between loading docks and storage areas while keeping the work area clean and orderly.

Responsibilities include selecting the appropriate method to move materials (forklift, hand-jack, cart), preparing shipments, coordinating third-party deliveries, occasional van/box truck trips, RF scanning, and adhering to safety rules with PPE and forklift inspections.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Move freight between loading docks, storage areas and work zones using forklift, cart or pallet jack.
• Prepare finished products for shipment: pull, stage, package and label as required.
• Coordinate third-party shipments.
• Deliver and/or pick up goods using company van or box truck as needed.
• Utilize RF scanning for inventory allocation.
• Report questionable conditions to management.
• Complete forklift safety inspections and wear PPE correctly.
• Follow all safety regulations.

Move freight, stock, and other materials to and from storage, receiving and production areas as well as loading-docks and delivery vehicles. This position is also responsible for maintaining the work area in a clean and orderly condition.

Supervisory Responsibilities

None

Essential Functions

• Determine the appropriate method to move raw materials and finished goods between loading-docks, storage areas, and work areas (i.e.: forklift, hand-jack, cart, dolly).
• Prepare finished products for shipment by pulling, staging, packaging, and labeling items according to company procedures and customer requirements.
• Coordinate third-party shipments.
• Occasionally, this position will be required to deliver and/or pick up goods, using a company van or box truck.
• Utilize RF scanning technology for inventory allocation.
• Report any questionable conditions to management.
• Complete the safety inspection of the forklifts, as required.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly and safely.
• Follow the prescribed safety regulations.

Qualifications: Required Skills/Abilities

• Must be at least 18 years old

• Proficient computer skills to effectively use ERP and other software programs

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Previous warehouse experience preferred

Physical Requirements

• This position will regularly require the ability to sit, stand, bend, reach and lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
• This position will regularly require the stamina to climb on and off of the forklift machine throughout the day.
• Must be able to safely tolerate heat in the summer and cold in the winter.
