Job summary

Interstate Battery System of America Inc in Memphis is seeking a Warehouse Associate to accurately process receiving, transfer, pick, pack and ship tasks using RF scanning devices and a variety of material handling equipment. You will tag pallets, restock shelves, and perform general warehouse duties with a strong emphasis on accuracy and teamwork.

The role requires experience with RF equipment and forklifts, basic math skills, and the ability to learn WMS software.

Qualifications

• High school graduate with strong basic math.
• Minimum ½ year experience in warehouse operations with RF hardware and forklifts.
• Ability to learn and navigate warehouse computer systems and maintain accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Accurately process receiving, transfer, pick, pack and ship transactions.
• Handle products per warehouse standards during receiving, transferring, picking, packing and shipping.
• Tag pallets correctly for transfer, pick, and ship.
• Perform general warehouse duties including restocking and housekeeping.
• Multitask and quickly transition between tasks as needed.
• Support other warehouse duties as assigned by management.

Purpose of Job

Ability to accurately and efficiently complete assigned distribution center tasks using a variety of equipment including RF barcode scanning devices, material handling equipment - electric and manual pallet jacks, stand-up and sit-down forklifts, WMS applications, and other shipping applications.

Job Components

• Accurately process system and manual transactions (receiving, transfer, pick, pack, ship)
• Handling of product per the warehouse distributor standards (receiving, transfer, pick, pack, ship)
• Properly tag pallets (for transfer, pick, pack, ship)
• General warehousing duties (such as restocking shelves and housekeeping of assigned areas)
• Ability to multi-task and/or quickly transition from one function/task to the next function/task
• Other warehouse duties as assigned by warehouse distributor management

Qualifications

• High school graduate and strong basic math skills
• Minimum ½ year experience in warehouse operations - including RF/HH equipment, forklift, electric pallet jack and stretch-wrap machine preferably in warehouse environment
• Working knowledge of computers or ability to learn applicable systems required
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Sense of urgency and well organized
• Cooperative team like attitude

Work Environment

• Warehouse distributor environment may be subject to temperature extremes, dust, fumes and battery acid
• Heavy lifting up to 100 lbs

• Overtime required as deemed necessary
