Job summary

Interstate Batteries is seeking a Warehouse Team Member I in Houston, TX to perform distribution center tasks with RF barcode scanning and various handling equipment. You will handle receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and battery handling while maintaining safety and efficiency.

The role emphasizes accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to learn warehouse systems. No formal experience required, with preference for candidates familiar with warehouse operations and equipment.

Qualifications

• High school graduate.
• Written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills.
• No experience required. Experience in warehouse operations preferred - including RF/HH equipment, forklift, electric pallet jack and stretch-wrap machine preferably in warehouse environment.
• Working knowledge of computers or ability to learn applicable systems required.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Sense of urgency and well organized.

Responsibilities

• Accurately process system and manual transactions (receiving, transfer, pick, pack, ship).
• Load and unload batteries.
• Restock batteries.
• Charge, clean, date and rewrap rotations.
• Charge, test, clean, and date adjustment batteries.
• Maintain a safe and clean warehouse environment.
• Accurately maintain warehouse reporting and claims.
• Operate a forklift and maintain a current certification.
• Properly tag pallets (for transfer, pick, pack, ship).
• General warehousing duties (such as restocking shelves and housekeeping of assigned areas).
• Ability to multi-task and transition between tasks quickly.
