Purpose Of Job

Accurately and efficiently complete assigned tasks using a variety of equipment including RF barcode scanning devices, material handling equipment such as manual pallet jacks, stand-up and sit-down forklifts, WMS tools, and other shipping applications. Provide backup for non-CDL delivery drivers.

Job Components

  • Accurately process system and manual transactions (receiving, transfer, pick, pack, ship)
  • Handle all product per the warehouse standards (receiving, transfer, pick, pack, ship)
  • Recondition, charge and refurbish used batteries
  • Properly wrap and tag pallets (for transfer, pick, pack, ship)
  • Load and unload trucks safely
  • Follow all Environmental Health and Safety rules and policies
  • General warehousing duties (such as restocking shelves and housekeeping of assigned areas)
  • Interact professionally with all stakeholders including team members, managers and customers.
  • Perform other warehouse duties as assigned by management, including assisting customers and serving as back-up for non-CDL delivery drivers
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

  • High school graduate (or equivalent)
  • Able to read, write and compute basic math
  • Excellent communication skills required
  • Minimum of one year experience in warehouse operations preferred
  • Working knowledge of computers or ability to learn applicable systems required.
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role is preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task, quickly transitioning from one function/task to the next.
  • Demonstrates good organizational skills and can prioritize tasks
  • Works with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Approaches tasks with a sense of urgency
  • Must work effectively in a team environment
  • Able to work overtime if requested.
  • Be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.
  • Valid state Driver’s License required.
  • DOT medical card required.

Scope Data

  • Works under general supervision and guidance
  • Accountable for general warehouse duties and backup driving responsibilities, in addition to occasional front counter customer service.

Work Environment

  • Exposed to battery warehouse conditions such as moving equipment, mechanical parts, electricity, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, hear, talk, and use hands to grasp and handle objects.
  • Frequent, repetitive lifting up to 75 lbs.
  • Continuous standing or walking
  • Use of PPE required (steel toe boots, safety glasses, protective gloves, etc.)
