Job summary

Above Talent Staffing is seeking a dependable Forklift Operator for our Tanner, AL warehouse to support receiving, storage, and shipment processes. You will perform picking, packing, labeling, and shipping documentation to ensure timely order fulfillment.

The role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety, and the ability to operate pallet jacks and other equipment. Previous warehouse experience and ADP familiarity are a plus; you must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Must pass a drug screen and Nationwide background check.
• Must have ADP experience.
• Punctual, regular attendance and overtime flexibility.
• Able to speak, read, and write English.
• Warehouse or logistics experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Order Picking and Packing: Accurately pick and pack products according to customer orders and organizational standards.
• Receiving and Inspection: Receive incoming shipments, verifying accuracy against packing lists.
• Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records by cycle counts and reconciling discrepancies.
• Material Handling: Safely operate pallet jacks and hand trucks; move materials to designated areas.
• Quality Control: Conduct quality checks and report defects or issues to supervisors.
• Team Collaboration: Work with teammates to achieve goals and priorities.
• Cleaning and Maintenance: Keep the warehouse clean and adhere to safety standards.

Job Summary

The Forklift Operator plays a key role in supporting the overall operations of the warehouse. This position involves a variety of tasks related to the receipt, storage, and shipment of products, contributing to the smooth functioning of the warehouse and ensuring timely fulfillment of customer orders.

Key Responsibilities

1. Order Picking and Packing
   • Accurately pick and pack products according to customer orders and organizational standards.
   • Ensure proper labeling and packaging of items for shipment.
2. Receiving and Inspection
   • Receive incoming shipments, verifying the accuracy of the received products against packing lists.
   • Report and document any discrepancies or damages to the supervisor.
3. Inventory Management
   • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records by performing regular cycle counts and reconciling discrepancies.
   • Organize and manage inventory within the warehouse.
4. Material Handling
   • Safely operate various warehouse equipment, such as pallet jacks and hand trucks.
   • Transport materials and products to designated storage areas.
5. Quality Control
   • Conduct quality checks on products to ensure they meet established standards.
   • Report any product defects or quality issues to supervisors.
6. Team Collaboration
   • Collaborate with other team members to achieve common goals and objectives.
   • Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors regarding work tasks and priorities.
7. Cleaning and Maintenance
   • Keep the warehouse clean and organized, adhering to safety and cleanliness standards.
   • Report any maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions promptly.
8. Shipping and Documentation
   • Prepare shipping documents and labels for outgoing shipments.
   • Coordinate with shipping carriers and ensure timely dispatch of orders.
9. Safety Compliance

   • Participate in safety training programs and maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications and Skills

• Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
• Ability to stand, walk, squat, and stoop for 8 – 12 hour shifts.
