Sun – Thurs 10:00 pm – 6:30 am | Time Type: Hourly

POSITION SUMMARY

The Team Lead has general responsibility for coordinating and overseeing all operational activities assigned to examine daily, under the direction of the Operations Supervisor. The Operations Lead oversees associates dedicated to warehousing, receiving, and shipping of product in their area to meet company service and cost objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Training Responsibilities
  • Mentor and train new and existing associates in distribution activities to meet customer demands.
  • Train associates on current Standard Operating Procedures, including shipping, receiving, picking and quality control.
  • Assist in forklift operation and certification for new and existing associates.
Shipping/Receiving Responsibilities
  • Oversee and coordinate unloading of inbound shipments, orderly stacking of product, and picking and staging of outbound shipments to maintain high productivity.
  • Verify required inbound/outbound paperwork with drivers, ensuring accurate counting of products.
  • Efficiently and accurately load orders to the appropriate doors and trailers.
  • Process all shipping, receiving and picking functions as defined by Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Research and resolve discrepancies in the shipping and receiving process.
Customer Service
  • Conduct yourself professionally in appearance and communications.
  • Communicate with customers telephonically, electronically or in person.
  • Prepare required activity reports accurately and efficiently for site management.
Quality Control Responsibilities
  • Use appropriate documentation to ensure products and orders are received or shipped correctly and accurately picked.
  • Verify products and orders meet quality standards, report damages or discrepancies, stack, package, shrink‑wrap and label product(s).
  • Process all quality control functions as defined by Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Report inconsistencies to the Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager.
  • Participate in quality meetings.
Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance
  • Knowledgeable in relevant ISO standards and comply with them.
  • Execute all safety protocols and perform all tasks in a safe manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the warehouse and comply with all Standard Operating Procedures, corporate and site‑specific policies, safety rules, and OSHA/MSDS Standards.
  • Participate in safety meetings.
Labor Management
  • Direct warehouse work team to achieve objectives.
  • Assist associates and temporary labor in completing productivity sheets and accurately capturing production and payroll hours.
  • Assist Supervisor in maintaining appropriate staffing levels.
  • Participate in establishing work schedules and ensure correct implementation.
  • Assist Operations Supervisor in ensuring quality procedures are followed.
Responsibility and Authority
  • Participate in department meetings.
  • Initiate action to prevent non‑conformities related to product, process and quality system, record problems, and recommend solutions.
  • Bring all non‑conformities to the attention of the Quality Department immediately.
Equipment Operation
  • In performing assigned duties, equipment used can include sit‑down, stand‑up, reach truck, sweeper scrubber, scissor lift, cherry picker, AisleMaster, or pallet jack.
  • Maintain equipment upkeep and report problems.
  • Inspect and perform minor maintenance on forklift or other equipment daily.
  • Operate all equipment safely and efficiently following prescribed work methods.
  • Maintain an active forklift certification.
Maintenance
  • Perform or assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.
OTHER DUTIES
  • Perform clerical and administrative tasks as guided by site management, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, greeting visitors, filing and record keeping.
  • Work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Work overtime as dictated by business, whether mandatory or voluntary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One year working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment.
  • Able to operate MHE.
  • Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during warmer and colder months ranging from mild to moderate.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations
  • Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
Computer Skills
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Use of RF scanners.
  • WMS functions.
Language Skills
  • English (reading, writing, verbal).
Mathematical Skills
  • Basic to intermediate level to verify quantities of product, count inventory, or perform other duties associated with handling, storing, and distributing client products.
Other
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and ability to accomplish job tasks in a timely manner.
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance.
  • Effective communication with all levels of the organization.
  • Adaptability to change and thriving in a fast‑paced work environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2–4 years’ experience working in a warehouse/logistics/distribution environment.
  • 2–4 years proven forklift experience.
  • Current or prior MHE certification.
