Job summary

LiDestri Foods seeks a Warehouse Support for the 3rd shift in Rochester, NY. You will assist and support the warehouse department's assigned functions, helping to ensure smooth overnight operations and timely handling of materials.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to wear PPE (hair net, bump cap, ear plugs, etc.).
• Basic computer and math skills for daily tasks.
• Ability to operate and handle simple warehouse tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support assigned warehouse functions.
• Remove bands and tops from bulk totes and breakdown totes.
• Ensure totes are prepared for return to vendor.
• Stack and wrap totes by vendor for return rail car.
• Maintain safety by using Lift Assist and reporting deficiencies.
• Report food safety and quality issues to the QA team.
• Back up UPS Clerk when needed.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Assist and support the assigned functions of the warehouse department.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Remove bands and tops from bulk totes (or other vessel);
• Breakdown bulk totes;
• Ensure pallet of broken down totes is properly prepared to be returned to vendor;
• Place scrap in proper receptacles and dispose as needed;
• Stack and wrap all totes by vendor to be loaded on return rail car;
• Ensure safe use of the Lift Assist;
• Inspect all raw materials stored in the Warehouse every 30 days;
• Ensure that all materials are stored correctly and are free of debris or contamination;
• Document all findings and alert appropriate personnel (shift, dept. or QA manager) of any deficiencies;
• Assist in all other Warehouse responsibilities or special projects when needed;
• Report food safety & quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action;
• Backup UPS Clerk when needed

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or GED;
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment (bump cap, hair net, ear plugs, beard net (if applicable), Kevlar gloves, safety glasses and leather skid resistant work shoes/boots);
• Ability to apply basic computer and communication skills, math functions, and reasoning;
• Ability to use various equipment (knife, band cutters, vacuum lift).

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Constant exposure to extreme loud noises;
• Constant standing and moving by foot;
• Constant exposure to extreme hot/cold (non-weather) environment;
• Constant work in high places and near moving mechanical parts;
• Frequent lifting/carrying <50 pounds, reaching and use of fingers;
• Frequent reaching/pulling/bending/climbing stairs/stooping/kneeling/bending;
• Occasionally lifting >50 pounds;
• Potential exposure to caustic chemicals.
