Job summary

Spee Dee Delivery Service is seeking a Warehouse Support employee to aid daily operations in both warehouse and transportation areas. You will help with package handling, route coverage, and vehicle parking/fueling to ensure smooth workflow and timely deliveries.

Responsibilities include assisting with route coverage, maintaining yard security, and coordinating with warehouse staff to resolve discrepancies, while supporting shift flexibility and maintaining safety standards across operations.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate a vehicle with a manual transmission or willingness to learn
• Ability to quickly read labels and work independently
• Strong communication with warehouse staff and management
• Must be 21+ years old and have a valid driver's license

Responsibilities

• Assist in parking and fueling vehicles as needed
• Cover routes when required to support transportation and delivery
• Ensure trailer cuts are made for timely deliveries to branches
• Communicate with warehouse staff to resolve discrepancies
• Maintain security of yard and building and manage freight flow
• Assist in stacking and sorting to ensure smooth operations
• Support multiple shifts as necessary
• Perform any other required duties as assigned

Job Summary

The Warehouse Support role assists with daily operations by supporting both warehouse and transportation functions as needed. This position helps ensure efficient workflow by handling packages, assisting with route coverage when needed, parking vehicles, and fueling trucks.

Hours and Wages

• Monday-Friday, 12:00PM start
• May be expected to cover variable shifts based on business needs
• Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week
• $24.00-26.00 per hour, based on experience, plus shift differential

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ability to assist in parking/fueling vehicles
• Cover routes when needed
• Ensure trailer cuts are made for timely delivery to branches
• Communicate with warehouse staff and other management to resolve discrepancies
• Manage security of the yard and building
• Assist in stacking and sorting to ensure the flow of freight
• Ability to cover various shifts
• Perform other required duties as assigned

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to operate a manual transmission, or have the willingness to learn
• Ability to read labels at a fast pace and work independently

Education and Experience

• At least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Hold a valid Driver's License with a good driving record which meets company standards
• 1+ year of experience in leadership and transportation industry preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to pass a DOT physical exam
• Ability to bend, lift, twist, carry, and slide freight weighing up to 75 pounds
• Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
