Job summary

Abbott in Altavista, VA seeks a Warehouse Supervisor to oversee distribution operations in the Nutrition Supply Chain. You’ll implement and maintain quality systems, deploy finished goods, support manufacturing centers, and drive continuous improvement across onsite and offsite warehouses.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in Inventory Management, Warehouse Management, Purchasing, Planning.
• APICS certification desired; supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain the quality system, warehouse management system, and applicable systems.
• Deploy finished goods worth over $150,000,000 to customers and distribution centers.
• Support Altavista manufacturing centers including can filling lines and packaging.
• Monitor operations of onsite and offsite distribution centers.
• Ensure inbound finished product loads are received timely and accurately.
• Develop procedures to comply with Abbott, FDA, OSHA, and governing bodies.
• Utilize non-exempt staff resources effectively.
• Foster open idea exchange and continuous improvement with root-cause analysis.
• Utilize capital resources efficiently.
• Provide customer service through accurate order processing and timely delivery.

What You’ll Work On

• Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system, warehouse management system, and other applicable systems.
• Deploy over $150,000,000 of Abbott finished products to Abbott customers and other distribution centers.
• Provide support to all manufacturing centers in the Altavista plant including but not limited to the 8oz and 13oz can filling lines, Tetra, RPB, Pedialyte, RTH, and CAM.
• Monitor and regulate the operations of both the onsite and offsite distribution centers.
• Ensure that all inbound finished product loads are received in a timely and accurate manner.
• Develop and implement department procedures to comply with all Abbott, FDA, OSHA, and any other governing body, guidelines.
• Effectively utilize the resources of non-exempt employees.
• Develop an atmosphere that encourages the open exchange of ideas and knowledge with a focus on continuous improvement and root cause analysis.
• Effectively utilize all capital resources.
• Provide customer service to both internal and external customers through accurate order processing, customized packaging, and timely delivery and receipt of finished products and services.
• Speed allocations and deployment decisions through implementation and effective utilization of technology support systems.
• Create, promote, and maintain a safe work environment.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree - Business Materials Management, Business Management, Industrial Engineering preferred or equivalent work experience.
• Knowledge of Distribution
• 2 years Inventory Management Warehouse Management Purchasing Planning

Preferred Qualifications

• APICS certification desired
• Prior Supervisory experience desirable.

The base pay for this position is
