Job description

UNDERSTANDING

The warehouse supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the PRIMARY warehouse, including managing staff, maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring efficient receiving and shipping processes, monitoring safety compliance, and coordinating with other departments to optimize warehouse productivity; key duties include assigning tasks, tracking inventory levels, resolving operational issues, and upholding quality standards within the warehouse environment. This position will ensure the safe operation of personnel and equipment; ensure all shipping and receiving deadlines are met, maintain the highest level of inventory accuracy. Provide leadership, guidance and direction to other employees in the performance of all duties. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Albanese Confectionery Group (ACG) policies, procedures and applicable laws.

Responsible for overseeing the current PRIMARY Warehouse operation, warehousing assessment, collaborating with the Supervisor, DC warehouse on overall cross-training program. Must have thorough knowledge of warehouse best practices, able to educate and mentor staff within 1.) Receiving and inspection; 2.) Material Handling and Put away; 3.) Slotting; 4.) Storage and Inventory Control; 5.) Picking and Packing; 6.) Load Consolidation and Shipping; 7.) Shipment Documentation; 8.) Labor scheduling and planning.

Work across an integrated fulfillment process (customer service, warehousing, transportation, inventory) to translate daily executional plans. This includes being a collaborative partner for Perfect Order metrics; as defined in the Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) model, a perfect order is when a product is delivered to a customer in the right quantity, condition, and time, with the correct documentation, and at the right cost. Majority full pallet picking and put-away, (some partials) which include scheduling labor and equipment and synchronizing with outbound transportation to ensure that the picked orders arrive at the appropriate time and ready for transport, utilizing a drop trailer program and customer routed freight. Picking too late can cause a missed pick-up window or carrier detention charges. If shipments are held up, it may also result in compliance penalties from the customer. Internal customer lead and support for demand planning (internal transfer, put aways), retail, logistics, manufacturing, procurement, customer service.

WORKING RELATIONSHIP

· Reports to the Manager, PRIMARY Warehouse

· Communicate regularly and have a strong relationship with team members in multiple departments

· Communicates and meets periodically with other departmental leaders

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Developing staff, cross-training program with user guides and training materials

· Analyzing warehouse data to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement

· Cross-training collaboration with Supervisor, DC Warehouse

· Enforce safety regulations and procedures within the warehouse

· Conduct safety training and inspections

· Investigate and report safety incidents • Collaborate with management to address operational challenges and develop strategic plans

• Resolve customer inquiries related to shipping and receiving

• Must ensure staff follow best-in-class picking procedures and understanding lot codes and First In First Out (FIFO), First Expired First Out (FEFO) processes

· Organizes, directs, and coordinates all aspects of warehouse on designated shift

· Responsible for monitoring and reporting the team’s performance to Warehouse Manager

· Ensure products are handled properly to minimize damage and preserve quality

· Execute standard operating procedures (SOPs)

· Support efforts to evaluate warehouse operations and implement measures to maximize efficiencies

· Responsible for monitoring and reporting teams’ performance in relation to company KPI’s

· Evenly distribute workloads and monitors, quality and productivity of each warehouse employee

· Conduct employee performance reviews

· Monitor daily operations and provide constructive feedback to team members

· Implement and enforce all policies and procedures for company and warehouse operations

· Complete system processes when required

· Ensure all deadlines are met on time

· Ensures daily checklist are completed and filed

· Ensures efficient use of time and equipment

· Enforce the plant’s safety with good GMP’s

· Always ensure cleanliness of warehouse

· Monitor equipment: submit work orders for repairs and recommend changes for safe operations

· Assist Management in finding solutions to problem areas

· Comply with all company Quality, HACCP, GMP and Food Safety Standards

· Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

· Strong leadership and supervisory skills

· Excellent organizational and time management abilities

· Detail-oriented with high attention to accuracy

· Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS)

· Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting

· Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines

· Forklift operation certification may be required depending on the role

· Must be able to lift up-to 25 pounds consistently and 50 pounds on occasion

· Must be able to speak, read and write in English

EDUCATION

· Bachelor’s degree and in business or supply chain, warehouse management preferred, and / or 5 years work experience managing a warehouse team of 25 people or more.

· Must have a High School Diploma or a G.E.D.
