Job summary

Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems, Inc. seeks a seasoned Supply Chain Analyst/Coordinator to optimize processes, analyze data, forecast demand, and drive continuous improvement across receiving, stocking, picking, shipping, and material handling.

You will lead KPI reporting and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet on-time delivery targets. The role requires 6-8 years in supply chain or analytics with supervisory experience, English fluency and Spanish skills.

Qualifications

• Education: HS, GED or Technical Certificate.
• 6-8 years minimum experience in supply chain or analytics with supervisory capacity 1-2 years.
• English fluency required; Spanish reading, typing, speaking proficiency required.
• Proficient Microsoft Applications (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word).
• Experience in data mining, analysis and reporting; familiarity with supply chain processes.

Responsibilities

• Process Optimization: identify and implement process improvements and cost saving initiatives.
• Data Analysis & Reporting: develop dashboards, metrics, and reports to measure supply chain performance.
• Forecast demand using historical data, trends, and models for future years and build events.
• Continuous Improvement: participate in initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
• Performance Monitoring: track KPIs and report on supply chain performance; evaluate optimization opportunities.
• Coordinate SEWS inventory and stay current with industry trends and technologies.
• Respond to customer complaints with 8D/STR or corrective action reports.
• Manage program activities related to internal/external costs, delivery, and MMOG actions to meet 100% on-time delivery.
• Ensure 100% inventory accountability and adherence to TS 16949/IATF 16949.

Job description

BASIC PURPOSE:

Supervises and coordinates daily warehouse and operations activities. Ensures the completeness and accuracy of associates’ job performance across receiving, stocking, picking, shipping, and material handling functions. Engagement with employees to promote adherence to all safety standards and foster a strong teamwork culture. Supports building compliance, facility maintenance, and overall operational requirements. Ensures the team meets established Safety, Quality, Productivity, Delivery, and Cost objectives while driving accountability and continuous improvement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Process Optimization: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements and cost saving initiatives.
• Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze and interpret supply chain data to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges. Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and metrics to measure supply chain performance.
• Conduct root cause analysis and utilize historical data, market trends, and statistical models to forecast demand accurately for future model years and upcoming new build events.
• Continuous Improvement: Participate in initiatives aimed at enhancing supply chain efficiency, reducing costs, and improving service levels. Continuously train and develop the SEWS Team with the knowledge and understanding of all customers.
• Performance Monitoring: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on supply chain performance Identify and evaluate opportunities for supply chain optimization, including transportation, inventory, and warehouse management.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in supply chain management. SEWS Physical Inventory coordination.
• Responds to and provides solutions for customer’s complaints through the creation of 8D, STR or customer specific corrective action reports.
• Program Management activities related to internal/external costs, production problems, delivery & performance ratings, MMOG activities and corrective action requests. Meet customer 100% on time delivery requirements.
• Meet company 100% inventory accountability and accuracy. Understand and implement procedures/processes to meet TS 16949/IATF 16949.

MINIMUM POSITIONSPECIFICATIONS

• Education: HS, GED or Technical Certificate.
• 6-8 year minimum experience in supply chain or analytics role, with a proven track record of achieving performance targets with 1-2 years supervisory capacity.
• Skills/Certifications: English fluency required. Spanish reading, typing, and speaking proficiency required.
• Proficient Microsoft Applications (Excel - formulas a plus, Access, power point, word) skills required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Must be able to perform in a stressful environment.
• Sequential manufacturing / scheduling / international business / import experience preferred Knowledge of the effective manufacture and distribution of finished goods, primarily on Automotive industry.
• Teamwork - Collaboration Proven work experience as a Supply Chain Analyst, Logistics Coordinator or similar role, Experience in data mining, analysis and reporting Familiarity with supply chain processes (e.g. Inventory planning, warehouse management).
