Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems, Inc. in El Paso is seeking a Material Control Planner II to procure mass production raw materials for wire harness operations, balancing inventory, and avoiding line stoppages.
You will review forecasts, POs, backorders, and expedites to maintain steady supply within inventory goals. The role requires strong vendor communication, attention to forecasts and DOH, and coordination with production, warehouse, and finance.
Purpose is to procure mass production raw material required for wire harness business as needed, while balancing physical inventory and preventing line shutdown. Customer Service functions: Planner must review entire pipeline and consider PO Cancellation, PO Push outs, urgent orders, normal orders, etc. all with the goal of maintaining a steady supply without exceeding Material Controls inventory goals (USD).
Planner needs to have strong communication with assigned vendors and review of POs, backorders, forecast, expedite requests, or any delivery issues. Weekly review, release, and interpretation of weekly forecast and backorder reports.
