Job summary

Portmantos Inc. is seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to lead the Visalia, CA warehouse operations on a day-to-day basis.

The role emphasizes on-floor leadership, independent decision-making, and ensuring safe, accurate, and efficient performance. You will direct the work of warehouse staff, adjust daily priorities, oversee receiving, put-away, inventory control, picking, packing, and shipping, and drive KPI monitoring.

Portmantos Inc. is seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to help lead the day-to-day operations of our Visalia, California warehouse.

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for supervising warehouse employees, establishing daily priorities, managing workflow, monitoring productivity and quality, supporting workplace safety, training employees, and helping ensure warehouse operations are completed safely, accurately, and efficiently.

This is a management-focused position requiring a strong presence on the warehouse floor and the ability to exercise independent judgment when making operational and employee-management decisions.

What you will do:

• Direct and supervise the work of warehouse employees.
• Plan, assign, prioritize, and monitor daily work assignments.
• Adjust staffing and employee assignments based on workload and operational needs.
• Manage daily workflow across receiving, put-away, inventory control, picking, packing, quality control, and shipping.
• Monitor employee productivity, accuracy, attendance, conduct, and performance.
• Provide ongoing coaching, training, counseling, and performance feedback.
• Document employee performance or conduct concerns when necessary.
• Participate in employee evaluations and performance-management discussions.
• Participate in candidate interviews and provide hiring recommendations.
• Make meaningful recommendations regarding hiring, promotion, discipline, reassignment, performance improvement, and termination.
• Monitor warehouse KPIs, inventory accuracy, fulfillment accuracy, and shipping performance.
• Identify operational bottlenecks and implement or recommend corrective solutions.
• Supervise inventory cycle counts and assist with physical inventory activities.
• Coordinate outbound shipping and routine carrier activity involving UPS, FedEx, LTL, and other approved carriers.
• Maintain safe, organized, and efficient warehouse operations.
• Enforce Company safety policies and support Cal/OSHA compliance.
• Identify workplace hazards and take appropriate corrective action.
• Stop unsafe work when necessary.
• Participate in safety inspections, meetings, and incident investigations.
• Ensure powered industrial equipment is operated only by properly trained and authorized employees.
• Support compliance with California meal-period, rest-period, timekeeping, and overtime procedures for supervised employees.
• Oversee warehouse housekeeping, storage organization, dock areas, and equipment condition.

Qualifications:

• Previous warehouse supervisory or management experience required.
• 3+ years of warehouse, distribution, logistics, fulfillment, or similar operational experience preferred.
• Demonstrated experience supervising and directing multiple employees.
• Experience managing employee productivity and performance.
• Working knowledge of receiving, inventory control, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping operations.
• Experience training and coaching employees.
• Strong leadership and employee-management skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to independently prioritize competing operational requirements.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with warehouse workplace-safety requirements.
• Experience with ERP, WMS, inventory-management, scanning, or similar warehouse systems preferred.
• UPS, FedEx, LTL, or similar shipping experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

With or without reasonable accommodation, this position may require:

• Standing and walking throughout the warehouse for extended periods.
• Bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, and pulling as necessary.
• Working around forklifts and other powered industrial equipment.
• Using computers, scanners, radios, and warehouse technology.
• Occasionally lifting, carrying, moving, or repositioning materials weighing up to approximately 50 pounds.
• Working in an active warehouse environment with varying temperatures, normal warehouse noise, loading docks, and material-handling activity.

Compensation:

Salary Range: $73,000–$75,000 annually

Final compensation within the posted range will be based on relevant experience, qualifications, skills, and other legitimate business factors.

This position is intended to be classified as salaried exempt based on the actual duties performed and applicable California salary and duties requirements.
