Job Description

BASIC FUNCTION: Responsible for managing shipping, receiving, and storage of raw materials and finished goods. Must utilize space, people, equipment, and time efficiently to accomplish the warehouse function.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervises, trains, and evaluates all hourly Warehouse employees. Administers plant rules, programs, and procedures applicable to hourly employees.
• Maintains standards of quality to meet customer and internal specifications. Strives for continuous improvement in quality performance through training, communication, leadership, and follow-up.
• Maintains safe working conditions, takes corrective actions on unsafe conditions, and may serve on the Plant Safety Committee.
• Implements safety recommendations and ensures compliance with safety standards, including forklift certification and hearing conservation.
• Conducts monthly safety meetings and handles employee concerns fairly and impartially.
• Assists in reviewing labor and material costs, analyzes methods for cost reduction, and communicates changes to staff.
• Keeps current on technical developments for management recommendations and employee training.
• Schedules delivery of supplies, maintains inventory, and manages reports of shipments and freight bills.
• Oversees operational equipment maintenance, communicates with vendors, and supervises staff managing raw materials storage.
• Responsible for SAP functions like inventory control, cycle counting, and tracking.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Materials Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of two years of college, preferably a Bachelor's in Business Management.
• Minimum three years supervisory experience, preferably in plastics manufacturing.
• Knowledge of raw materials and inventory management in plastics environment.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Forklift Leads and Drivers.

AUTHORIZATION: Ability to shut down machines for safety or quality issues, contact staff or management with concerns, initiate corrective actions, and approve expenditures within guidelines.
