Job Summary

The Warehouse Supervisor plays a vital role in overseeing the daily operations of a warehouse facility. Responsible for managing and coordinating the movement of goods, ensuring accurate inventory management, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment. Additionally, leads a team of warehouse personnel, providing guidance and support to achieve operational targets and deliver exceptional customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee the overall functioning of the warehouse, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping of goods.
  • Monitor and track inventory levels to ensure accuracy.
  • Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain consistent and efficient operations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate the movement of goods and resolve any operational issues.
  • Supervise and train warehouse staff, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Schedule and assign tasks to warehouse personnel, ensuring adequate coverage and efficient workload distribution.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, objectives, and updates.
  • Address employee concerns, conflicts, and performance issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure accurate inventory management through regular cycle counts, stock reconciliations, and audits.
  • Enforce safety protocols and best practices to ensure a safe working environment for all warehouse personnel.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and identify potential hazards, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to safety, compliance, and operational processes.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and warehouse metrics, such as productivity, accuracy, and order fulfillment rates.
  • Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Generate reports on warehouse activities, including inventory levels, shipment statuses, and performance metrics.
  • Present regular reports to management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations for process enhancements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Proven experience as a warehouse supervisor or a similar role in logistics operations.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics principles.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control software.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop employees.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities to resolve operational challenges and implement process improvements.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and software, including MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in a warehouse environment.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • A minimum of two years of experience preferred.
  • Forklift certification or the ability to obtain one.
Physical Requirements
  • Periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Standing and Walking: The role requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods as to navigate the warehouse floor and moves between different areas of the facility.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Must be able to lift and carry heavy objects, packages, and materials, often weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Bending, Stooping, and Reaching: Some warehouse tasks may involve bending, stooping, and reaching to access products, shelves, and storage areas.
  • Pushing and Pulling: Some warehouse tasks may involve pushing or pulling heavy carts, pallet jacks, or other equipment.
  • Climbing: Depending on the warehouse layout, it may be required to climb ladders, stairs, or platforms to access inventory or perform specific tasks.
  • Safety Awareness: Should be mindful of safety procedures and have a strong awareness of potential hazards in the warehouse environment.
