Job summary

ReaderLink in Ogden, UT is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor – Inventory Control to plan, organize, and monitor the Inventory Control function for achieving production goals set by the plant manager. You will lead a team to ensure accuracy and efficiency in stock handling and reporting.

Responsibilities include regular counts, discrepancy resolution, process improvements, and coordination with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 3 years warehouse experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills.
  • At least 1 year using a warehouse management system with reporting tools.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends or off shifts.

Summary

Plans, organizes, and monitors the Inventory Control function to achieve stated production goals at the desired level outlined by the plant manager.

Essential Functions
  • Conduct regular inventory and cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Complete monthly stock reduction.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies, conduct root cause analysis, and develop corrective action plans to prevent future issues.
  • Manage the return process for items that are no longer needed, ensuring proper documentation and placement back into inventory.
  • Oversee the assessment and processing of damaged materials, ensuring timely reporting and appropriate actions are taken for disposal or return.
  • Coordinate stock transfer requests between locations, ensuring proper documentation and tracking of inventory movements.
  • Manage the quarantine process for items that require inspection or testing before being added back to inventory.
  • Ensure proper organization of stock locations for efficient picking and restocking, optimizing space and accessibility.
  • Safely operate forklifts to move stock as required, adhering to all safety policies and regulations.
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead people and get results through others.
  • Develop a positive work environment.
  • Make employee decisions including interview, selection and retention of employees.
  • Conduct employee communication meetings, performance reviews, and discipline.
  • Resolve employee issues through problem solving.
  • Conduct employee training, career counseling, and development.
  • Continually review functional requirements and assign employees to the correct work area.
  • Manage multiple priorities and problems.
  • Coordinate daily workflow with other management personnel.
  • Perform accident and near miss investigations.
  • All operations supervisors are expected to be available to work in all areas of the operation.
  • Promote accurate, timely communication up and down the organization to ensure priority issues are addressed.
  • Set an example for co-workers.
  • Coordinate daily workflow with other warehouse personnel.
  • Ensure the work areas are appropriately maintained and correct any unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Regular, reliable attendance is required as work cannot be performed remotely
Non-Essential Functions
  • Other duties may be assigned, directed or requested.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Minimum of 3 years warehouse experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
  • Basic proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office tools, with advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • At least 1 year experience utilizing a warehouse management system including reporting tools.
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules as required which may include working off shifts and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish oral and written communication preferred
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to stand up to 10 hours in a day.
  • Must be able to walk up to 8 hours.
  • Will continuously reach up and out.
  • Will occasionally climb.
  • Will occasionally push/pull from 11-25 pounds.
  • Will frequently bend, stoop, reach up and out, crouch, kneel, and push/pull from 36-50 pounds.
  • Will frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Will occasionally have repetitive foot movement.
  • Will frequently have repetitive hand/arm movements for simple reaching, simple and firm grasping and/or fine hand manipulation.
  • Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly required to stand; use hand to finger, handle or feel objects; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Must be able to wear gloves occasionally.
Language Skills
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to speak with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Be able to write routine reports.
Mathematical Skills
  • Must be proficient in mathematics.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using American money and weight measurements, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Work Environment
  • The work performed is in a warehouse environment.
  • The employee is frequently exposed to vibrations and dust and will be working around moving machinery.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate at low decibels.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced, team environment.
