Job summary

Apex Water and Process Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to lead day-to-day warehouse operations, overseeing chemical blending/production and shipping/receiving teams at our Westfield, IN facility.

You will coordinate production schedules, manage inventory accuracy, and drive safety and efficiency while aligning activities with customer commitments and SOPs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Five years in manufacturing, production, warehouse, or related operations.
  • Two years in supervisory or team leadership.
  • Hands-on experience with shipping and receiving operations, inventory handling, and warehouse practices.
  • Forklift operating experience; ability to safely operate material-handling equipment as required.
  • Experience writing, implementing, and following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Experience using ERP systems for production, inventory, shipping/receiving, or related transactions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach employees, assign work, manage performance, and hold team members accountable.

  • Oversee daily chemical blending/production, shipping, and receiving activities, prioritizing work to meet production schedules and customer commitments.
  • Plan and coordinate blending schedules, batching, sequencing, material requirements, and receiving activities based on demand and capacity.
  • Own warehouse and production transactions and records within the ERP system.
  • Ensure materials are available for scheduled blending and coordinate inbound receipts, outbound shipments, and material flow with cross-functional teams.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and warehouse organization through receiving, storage, staging, cycle counts.

JOB SUMMARY

The Warehouse Supervisor leads day-to-day warehouse operations, with direct oversight of both chemical blending/production and shipping and receiving team members. This role is responsible for coordinating production schedules, inbound and outbound material flow, inventory accuracy, staffing, and safe, efficient execution of work. The Warehouse Supervisor ensures chemical products are blended, packaged, received, stored, staged, and shipped accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with SOPs, safety requirements, and quality standards. This hands-on leader works closely with the Production Manager, Procurement, Logistics, and other departments to align production and warehouse activities with inventory needs and customer commitments.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead, coach, and develop production and shipping and receiving team members, including managing staffing, schedules, workload assignments, performance, training, and accountability.
  • Oversee daily chemical blending/production, shipping, and receiving activities, prioritizing work to meet production schedules, inbound/outbound requirements, customer commitments, quality standards, and business needs.
  • Plan and coordinate chemical blending schedules, batching, sequencing, material requirements, shipping priorities, and receiving activities based on demand, inventory, and operational capacity.
  • Own warehouse and production transactions and records within the ERP system, including production orders, material issues, receipts, shipments, inventory movements, transfers, and production tickets.
  • Ensure materials are available for scheduled blending and coordinate inbound receipts, outbound shipments, staging, and material flow with Procurement, Logistics, and other teams to prevent disruptions.
  • Oversee warehouse and production equipment reliability, including preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and coordination with internal resources and outside vendors.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and effective warehouse organization through proper receiving, storage, staging, material handling, cycle counts, and physical inventory practices.
  • Partner with the Production Manager and cross-functional teams to coordinate production priorities, inventory availability, finished goods staging, shipping schedules, and customer commitments.
  • Develop and maintain warehouse and production SOPs and drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, inventory accuracy, equipment reliability, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Ensure chemical blending/production and shipping and receiving employees follow established SOPs, safety requirements, quality standards, and proper equipment and material-handling procedures.
  • Identify and resolve production, shipping, receiving, inventory, and workflow issues; implement corrective actions and escalate significant operational concerns as appropriate.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, efficient, and productive warehouse and production environment, adhering to and supporting all safety policies and guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing, production, warehouse, shipping/receiving, or related operations environment.
  • Two (2) years of experience in a supervisory or team leadership role.
  • Hands-on experience with shipping and receiving operations, inventory handling, material movement, and warehouse practices in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Forklift operating experience; ability to safely operate material-handling equipment as required.
  • Experience writing, implementing, and following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Experience using ERP systems for production, inventory, shipping/receiving, or related transactions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Experience using electronic timekeeping or workforce management systems to manage employee time, attendance, and schedules.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach employees, assign work, manage performance, and hold team members accountable.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and address production, shipping/receiving, equipment, inventory, and workflow issues.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across Production, Warehouse, Logistics, Procurement, and other departments.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and work in varying, physically demanding production and warehouse conditions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Six (6)+ years of experience in a manufacturing, production, warehouse, shipping/receiving, or related operations environment.
  • Three (3) + years of experience in a supervisory or team leadership role.
  • Experience with chemical blending, industrial chemicals, water treatment, or another technical manufacturing environment.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

The anticipated salary range for this position is between $65,000 - $80,000, depending on qualifications and experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, and paid time off.
