Job description

Position Overview

This position plans, assigns, and directs activity within a cold storage facility in a safe and orderly fashion. The role is primarily responsible for the selection, training, and retention of the warehouse team.

Work Schedule

Ability to work both 1st and 2nd shifts and adjust the schedule as needed to support business operations.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of a team of warehouse employees, including assigning work, setting and attaining performance goals, and managing performance in accordance with organizational policies and operating standards.

• Work and lead others in a fast‑paced, cold storage environment.
• Identify and effectively train underperforming associates in a positive and constructive manner, while recognizing and motivating exceptional performers.
• Cultivate a culture of productivity, belonging and responsibility. Communicate company goals, vision, objectives, and direction to warehouse staff.
• Manage inventory to protect customers’ physical assets by applying consistent procedures and verifying products through various systems or departments, and monitoring employee accuracy of receiving and selecting of products.
• Monitor product integrity by verifying product temperatures and refrigeration operations, ensuring continuity of the cold chain; inspect products for damage; and maintain control of rodents and pests in all food storage areas.
• Maintain facility cleanliness, organization, and proper product handling in accordance with Arcadia’s established protocols.
• Protect Arcadia warehouse staff and employees by enforcing proper personal protective equipment use; ensuring training and certifications are up to date; monitoring wage and hour law compliance; assuring OSHA compliance and local, state, and federal food handling regulations.
• Serve as the champion or subject matter expert on all GMPs and Safety Work Rules.
• Supervise the processes associated with shipping and receiving of products to ensure product integrity and order‑filling accuracy, achieving KPI and budget throughput.
• Cultivate Arcadia employees’ personal and professional development to ensure proficiency in their current role and support their pursuit of future roles.
• Possess the technical skills of a subject matter expert in employee payroll systems, WMS, and truck scheduling systems, and train warehouse employees and new peers within 90 days of hire on all Arcadia systems.
• Establish an environment of teamwork, employee involvement and empowerment, fairness, and consistency, promoting the open‑door philosophy.
• Take ownership to drive a positive culture by creating an environment of collaboration and acceptance, staying approachable and flexible, especially when facing challenges.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required; a relevant advanced degree preferred.
• At least four years of warehouse management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
• Strong leadership skills, emphasizing team guidance, development, customer service, communications, and planning.
• Ability to solve problems and present information effectively to customers, clients, and employees.
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule and shift, including weekends if needed.
• Ability to withstand cold‑storage temperatures for extended periods of time (warm gear provided by the company).
• Possession of technical expertise in employee payroll systems, WMS, and truck scheduling systems.
