Job summary

LeChase Construction is seeking a Warehouse/Yard Supervisor to manage a yard and inventory, ensuring timely provisioning of tools and equipment to projects. You will supervise yard staff, coordinate deliveries, and oversee safety programs to maintain a compliant, efficient operation.

The role requires 2+ years in warehouse management and a strong knowledge of safety procedures, DOT rules, and basic IT skills; endurance for physical tasks and multi-site coordination is essential.

Qualifications

  • High school/trade school graduate or equivalent training.
  • 2+ years of experience with managing and operating tools, equipment, and warehouse.
  • OSHA 30 trained or ability and willingness to obtain in a timely manner.
  • Understand and adhere to safety policies and procedures.
  • High level of knowledge of New York State DOT regulations and procedures.
  • Basic management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge and use of computer software (i.e. email, spreadsheets).
  • Excellent mechanical knowledge and ability to identify and evaluate malfunctioning equipment and tools and recommend corrective measures or repairs.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities and produce deliverables in a time-sensitive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead safety and training for warehouse personnel.
  • Ensure daily paperwork is completed accurately.
  • Coordinate delivery and pickup of equipment and materials for multiple jobsites.
  • Order, stock, and disburse safety equipment including fall protection devices and PPE.
  • Maintain knowledge of all tools/equipment in inventory.
  • Schedule deliveries to jobsites and coordinate with them on dates and times.
  • Decide whether a tool/equipment can be supplied in-house or rented.
  • Manage tool/equipment transfers and cost entries in the warehouse system.
  • Oversee truck scheduling and efficient delivery routes.
  • Coordinate repairs and arrange economical external service when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Manages and maintains one Yard/Warehouse facility within specific SBU. Responsible for the inventory and upkeep of tools and equipment. Supervises and assigns duties to specific Yard/Warehouse personnel. Achieving excellence in guaranteeing projects are receiving materials, tools and equipment in a timely and ready to operate manner.

RESPONSIBILITES
  • Leadership role in safety and training for warehouse employees.
  • Ensures proper paperwork is done daily.
  • Coordinate delivery and pick up of equipment and materials for multiple jobsites.
  • Order, maintain, stock, and disburse safety equipment including fall protection system devices, safety glasses, ear protection, hard hats, safety vests, etc.
  • Responsible to understand all tools/equipment in inventory.
  • Responsible to take delivery requests from jobsites and coordinate with those jobsites for delivery dates and times.
  • Determine whether a tool or piece of equipment can be supplied in house or needs to be rented.
  • Manage all tool/equipment transfers and returns from jobsite including computer entries for costing to jobsites. This includes data entry into computer and Warehouse management system.
  • Schedule trucks and deliveries to jobsites in the most efficient manner for overall warehouse operations.
  • Manage logistics of equipment usage for both owned and rented equipment across jobsites.
  • Responsible to coordinate repairs to our own tools and equipment as appropriate or if more cost-effective coordinate most economical outside repair.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education/Experience:
  • High school/trade school graduate or equivalent training.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
