Overview

The Warehouse Specialist Technician Lead supervises and coordinates the day-to-day operations of warehouse and cargo movement functions supporting air and sea transport to and from Ascension Auxiliary Airfield. This includes leading personnel in handling, documentation, compliance, and scheduling of materials—ensuring mission readiness and full regulatory compliance.

Overview

The Warehouse Specialist Technician Lead supervises and coordinates the day-to-day operations of warehouse and cargo movement functions supporting air and sea transport to and from Ascension Auxiliary Airfield. This includes leading personnel in handling, documentation, compliance, and scheduling of materials—ensuring mission readiness and full regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise warehouse technicians and oversee all inbound/outbound cargo, including mail and classified shipments.
  • Coordinate airlift (every two weeks) and sealift (five or more times annually) operations between PSFB and AAAF.
  • Ensure cargo handling, documentation, palletizing, labeling, and manifests comply with DAFI 24-602 V2, AFMAN 24-604, IATA, IMDG, and DTR 4500.9-R.
  • Monitor and report supply discrepancies in accordance with DLMS and ensure zero discrepancy tolerance.
  • Review and validate cargo and passenger documentation prior to submission to 45 LRS or TMO.
  • Lead personnel in classified cargo processing, ensuring strict adherence to security procedures and documentation (DD Form 1907, REPSHP).
  • Liaise with U.S. Postal Office, UPS, FedEx, and PSFB mail centers for incoming and outgoing cargo.
  • Manage pick-up, preparation, and delivery of cargo skids to PSFB air terminal.
  • Support mission planning by coordinating with COR and Cargo Operations Manager on flight and sealift schedules.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and performance oversight for assigned warehouse staff.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree in logistics or management preferred).
  • Minimum of 4 years of warehouse, logistics, or cargo transport experience.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
  • Secret clearance (active or able to obtain).
  • Strong working knowledge of cargo handling regulations and DoD shipping documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with military air and sealift operations.
  • HAZMAT, HAZWOPER, or classified cargo handling training.
  • Forklift or MHE certification.
