Overview

Perform a full range of duties in the receipt, stow, and issue of material. Ensure items being stowed meet requirements of MIL-STD 129N.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Perform inventory actions.
2. Identify, examine, classify, accept, reject, and dispose of material as per DLA regulations. Examinations may be visual or require measuring devices and techniques under supervision of senior staff or management.
3. Load material on and off skids, pallets, and stands.
4. Operate tools and equipment in performance of duties.
5. Receive data from and input data to DSS and other automated supply systems.
6. Operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) as assigned and hold appropriate license.
7. Count, weigh, record data, apply tags and labels.
8. Use basic inspection/examination procedures for material.
9. Read specifications, drawings, prints, schematics, and photographs.
10. Prepare reports related to distribution functions.
11. Make preventive maintenance adjustments to related equipment.
12. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

There are no supervisory duties associated with this position.

Education And/or Experience

1. High School Diploma or GED required.
2. At least 2 years of experience in material handling, supply, distribution, inspection, or related areas.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

1. Proficient in DSS and other automated distribution systems used at site.
2. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook).
3. Good attitude and ability to work as part of a team.
4. Ability to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast-paced environment, and pay strong attention to detail.
5. Ability to acquire a license to operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE).

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Material Handling Equipment (MHE) certification/license.

Security Clearance

U.S. Citizenship, a U.S. Government background check, and possibly a SECRET clearance.

Additional Requirements for SECRET Clearance

1. Current SECRET Personnel Security Clearance or ability to complete a U.S. government investigation.
2. Ability to maintain SECRET clearance.

Physical Demands

Must be able to occasionally stand, walk, sit, handle objects, operate equipment, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, talk, hear, taste, or smell. Must occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

Warehouse environment involving repetitive motions and prolonged standing. Physical work requiring lifting up to 50 lbs overhead or repeatedly.
