Job Description

The Arrival/Departure Airfield Control Group (ADACG) coordinates the processing and loading of personnel and cargo based on deployment plans and aircraft schedules. Responsibilities include performing passenger service duties to ensure quality customer service and compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and Defense Transportation Regulations. Duties also involve dispatching passenger services, maintaining aircraft status boards, receiving air mission set-ups, and relaying passenger processing and movement information to the ADACG Operations/Shift leader.

Additional responsibilities include coordinating and controlling passenger processing through air terminals, assisting deploying units with air passenger manifesting, briefing troop commanders on anti-hijacking procedures, and ensuring all hand-carried items comply with weight and size restrictions. Providing flight information and updates on delays to passengers is also required. The primary purpose of this role is to provide air transportation cargo and personnel support services within a secure military deployment area.

Security and Inspection

The role reports to the designated aircraft-loading zone, which may be a classified secure area. It involves conducting visual inspections of military service members to ensure compliance with regulations regarding the transport of carry-on items, with special attention to items such as medical supplies or hazardous materials. Violations are reported to authorities as per applicable laws and regulations. The position may require operating materials handling equipment like forklifts, ensuring physical security of passengers, inspecting cargo packaging, and reviewing shipping documentation for accuracy.

Work Conditions and Requirements

This position requires extensive interaction with customers, long strenuous hours, and the ability to work unconventional shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Physical requirements include standing, walking, lifting, and carrying materials up to 50 lbs. The role demands working under pressure and complying with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations, and company rules. Knowledge of transportation regulations, safety, and security procedures is essential, along with skills in written and oral communication. Ability to operate a motor vehicle is also required. All duties assigned by section leaders and management must be performed diligently.
