Job summary

Intuitive Surgical, Inc. in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Warehouse Specialist to optimize inventory flows, support Kardex VLMs, and bridge planning, purchasing and manufacturing teams to ensure material availability.

  • Experience performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze inventory and material movement data from SAP, Kardex, and Power Pick Global (PPG) to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counting, reconciliation activities, and system audits.
  • Act as the primary liaison between warehouse operations, planning, purchasing, and manufacturing teams regarding material availability and inventory issues.
  • Support Kardex VLM operations, including material storage optimization, bin configuration, inventory mapping, and system maintenance activities.
  • Develop and maintain material handling strategies for picking, put-away, replenishment, and Kanban processes.
  • Ensure accurate material master data, including part numbers, storage locations, bin assignments, and inventory attributes.
  • Investigate inventory variances and perform root cause analysis to implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate inventory transfers, material replenishment, and stock consolidation activities to support production requirements.
  • Assist with Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) by coordinating material disposition, inventory adjustments, and procedural updates.
  • Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for warehouse and inventory management system enhancements, including creating and executing test scripts.
  • Collaborate with IT, warehouse teams, and vendors to support system integrations and inventory management solutions.
  • Generate inventory reports, KPIs, and material analysis dashboards to support operational decision-making.
  • Support warehouse automation initiatives and continuous improvement projects aimed at increasing efficiency and accuracy.
  • Conduct material assessments to optimize space utilization, storage strategies, and inventory control processes.
  • Coordinate training and provide guidance on inventory management processes, SAP transactions, and Kardex system usage.
  • Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with Planning and Purchasing teams to mitigate shortages and excess inventory.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, quality requirements, and inventory control procedures.

Job Description

Primary Function of the Position

The Warehouse Specialist plays a key role in supporting warehouse operations, inventory management, and material flow optimization across business units. This position is responsible for analyzing inventory data, maintaining material accuracy, supporting Kardex Vertical Lift Modules (VLMs), and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient material handling, system integrity, and operational readiness.

  • Ability to interpret inventory reports and identify opportunities for process improvements.


Working Conditions


  • Ability to lift material up to 35 lbs.

  • Load and unload materials using forklifts and pallet jacks as required.

  • Wrap, weigh, label, and prepare shipments for transportation.

  • Extensive walking and repetitive physical movements including bending, squatting, lifting, reaching, and climbing ladders.

  • Ability to work in warehouse and manufacturing environments.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target compensation ranges are listed.


Base Compensation Range Region 1: $32 USD - $43 USD


Base Compensation Range Region 2: $27 USD - $36 USD
